Testing Candidates for L564 SNPs

This Y-SNP has tested positive for three surnames: Lewis, Daniel and Foerstner. There is also several other possible surnames associated with L564: Williams, MacDonald, Strother, Winham, Pridgen and Kezar.

There are several good candidates for L564 testing (in order of relatedness):

1) Within the Lewis DNA project, no other Lewis submissions were found with the L564 DNA fingerprint. However, one Y-Search submission was found within 70 % of the DNA fingerprint: Lewis (Y-Search ID E6AX3). The Daniel project revealed six additional L564 testing candidates: surname unknown: (137032, 5404, 138548/6NWGN, 142535) and surname of Daniel (48902 and 29526/CHC84).

2) There are several good candidates worthy of testing that have more than 70 % of the DNA fingerprint of L564: Williams (NHSPG), MacDonald (39CJ9), Strother (RNKPV), Winham (D2N37), Pridgen (NZPM7) and Kezar (5ZDMH). These are highly likely to test positive for L564 as well.

3) There are several lower odds submissions worthy of testing to possibly expand the breadth of this SNP (between 50 and 70 % of DNA fingerprint): Hull (2), Reynolds (2), Burke (2), Jordan (2), Long (2) and 45 other surnames. These lower odds candidates would test the boundaries of the L564 Y-SNP.

The DNA results spreadsheet includes many good testing candidates. Any testing with at least seven of ten matches probably have a 90 % chance of testing positive. The higher on the spreadsheet, the more likely of testing positive for these Y-SNPs. Since the scope of this Y-SNP has not been tested extensively to date, any recommendations are less reliable for testing positive (except the Daniel project submissions where are higher odds testing candidates).
