SUMMARY OF SNP - March, 2013
Classification of SNP: Small to medium branch. Son of DF13. This analysis is speculative in nature since the nature of the curve of the testing candidates suggests major overlap with non-L1312 submissions. Only three submissions above 70 % matches (8 of 10 match or higher) have been tested and two of these three submissions have tested negative.
Speculative preliminary estimated breadth of SNP: 50 = 2 x 90 % (10 of 10) + 28 x 70 % (9 of 10) + 54 x 30 % (8 of 10) + 126 x 10 % (7 of 10).
Dominant Surnames (positive): Only Peel.
Year that SNPs were discovered: November, 2012.
Source of SNP: FTDNA WTY test, FTDNA ID N45540, Y-Search ID VKTUN, Surname Peel.
Number of Positive Tests (67 markers): Only one known (original WTY test).
Number of Broad Negative Tests (67 markers): Only twelve known.
Number of Negative Tests within Fingerprints (higher than 70 %): Three (indicates narrow scope SNP and/or significant overlap with non-L1312 submissions).
Pending Tests (within Fingerprint): Probably several.
TRENDS OF TESTING CANDIDATES
L1312 Fingerprint
Note that the number of known testing candidates does not appear to be similar to most L21 SNPs where the number of testing candidates declines down to 70 % matches, remains low between 50 and 70 % and then sees a sharp rise as non-L1312 submissions dominate the under 50 % matches. From the outset, as the number of fingerprint markers that match decreases, the number of submissions rise instead of decline. This implies a much more narrow scope SNP and very significant overlap of L1312 submissions with non-L1312 submissions. Since the number of positive results does not decline at higher fingerprint matches, this suggests that L1312 is not genetically isolated from non-L1312 submissions - so testing results will be very mixed.

ISOGG Status - Prove relationship of L1312 to other L21 SNPs
Requirements of proving L1312 position on the ISOGG haplotree have not been met. Six additional ISOGG sons of DF13 need to test negative for L1312.

ISOGG Status - Prove genetic and surname diversity of L1312
L1312 does not satisfies either the 15 % genetic diversity requirement and the surname diversity requirement for inclusion on the ISOGG haplotree. Two submissions of L1312 must have at least a genetic distance of 10 (15 % x 67 markers = 10).

DNA FINGERPRINT & SIGNATURES
Note: The L1312 fingerprint is preliminary in nature and may require fine tuning as additional testing reveals the true scope of L1312.
L1312 Fingerprint (L21 Off Modal Mutations):
Markers 1 to 37: 391 <= 10, 385b >= 16, 439 <= 11, 447 <= 24, 449 <= 29 and 442 >= 13 (7 mutations).
Markers 38 to 67: 481 >= 23; 446 >= 14 and 565 <= 11 (3 mutations).
Note: 395S1a <= 13, 487 <= 11 and 492 >= 14 are non-L21 MRCA values associated with the only L1312 submission but were not included in the L1312 fingerprint due to this was the only submission above a 70 % match that had these marker values. These marker mutations are believed to be post L1312 creation.
L1312 Signatures (R-L21 Plus): 13-1511A-T2.
Markers 1 to 37: 391 = 10, 385b >= 15, 439 <= 11, 447 <= 24 and 442 = 13 (5 mutations).
Markers 38 to 67: 565 <= 11 (1 mutation).
