The Brooks family members covered in this family history book are very
southern people and resided in Georgia, Texas, Alabama, Louisiana,
South Carolina and other southern states. This book was first
published in paper form in 1982 contained 4,500 individuals
in the 400 page book.
"Brooks Family History," 1982
is still available for sale for $35.00 postage paid. Since publication, this book
has been expanded to over 8,000 individuals and contains only descendants of
Robert Brooks who died in Mecklenburg County, Virginia around 1805. Most of
the book covers Robert's son, Jordan Brooks, b. 1760s who lived in Edgefield
County, South Carolina and later died in Talbot County, Georgia. Many descendants
reside in Talbot, Muscogee, Stewart and Putnam Counties in Georgia and many
others moved to central Texas within the triangle created by Houston, San Antonio
and Austin, Texas. Also included is the related line, Hill Family History.
The author's great grandfather, Francis Asberry Brooks, married Rhoda Hill.
This family history is growing daily and additional information
