THOMAS HENRY HILL (12.5) is the son of John W. Hill and Mary Ann (Reed) Hill.  Tom was born on November 8, 1853 in Arkansas.  On December 25, 1878, Tom Hill married Frances Adeline Massey in Hays County, Texas.  Fannie was born on January 5, 1863 in Hays County, Texas and is the daughter of Andrew Jackson Massey (born 1832 in Georgia) and Martha Massey.  Tom and Fannie Hill were the parents of three children:

   Maude Hill (12.5.1), b. October 4, 1880, Hays County, Texas
   John Jerome Hill (12.5.2), b. June 10, 1884, Hays County, Texas
   Alfred Hill (12.5.3), b. July 27, 1893, Hays County, Texas

From 1880 to 1920, Tom and Fannie Hill were living in Hays County, Texas.  In 1900, Fannie’s father, Andrew Massey, was living with them.  Thomas H. Hill died on June 27, 1929 in Hays County, Texas and Frances (Massey) Hill died on March 26, 1943 in Hays County, Texas.  Both were buried in the Phillips Cemetery in Hays County, Texas.

MAUDE HILL (12.5.1) is the daughter of Thomas Henry Hill and Frances Adeline (Massey) Hill.  Maude was born on October 4, 1880 in Hays County, Texas.  On November 24, 1897, Maude Hill married Benjamin Franklin Quick.  Ben was born on April 7, 1874 in Lavaca County, Texas and is the son of Jacob Clawson Quick (born 1833 in South Carolina) and Mary Ann (Washington) Quick (born 1836 in Georgia).  Ben and Maude Quick were the parents of seven children:

   Mary Addie Quick, b. August 10, 1900, Hays County, Texas
   Henry Clawson Quick, b. June 21, 1902, Hays County, Texas

From 1900 to 1930, Ben and Maude Quick were living in Hays County, Texas.  In 1964, Maude (Hill) Quick was living in Dripping Springs, Texas.  Benjamin F. Quick died on March 27, 1967 in Hays County, Texas and Maude (Hill) Quick died July 13, 1969 in Hays County, Texas.  Both were buried in the Pursley Cemetery in Hays County, Texas.  On June 18, 1922, Addie Quick married W. Sam Brown.  Sam and Addie Quick were later divorced.  Henry C. Quick died on June 15, 1905 in Hays County, Texas and was buried there in the Pursley Cemetery.  On June 9, 1962, Hill Quick married Rose Belle Greenawalt.  Hill and Rose Quick were later divorced.  On October 25, 1941, Willie Maud Quick married Clinton Rippy.  Clinton Rippy and Oran Rippy are brothers.

THEODOSIA QUICK (12.5.1.1) is the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Quick and Maude (Hill) Quick.  Dosia was born on December 12, 1898 in Hays County, Texas.  On October 15, 1918, Dosia Quick married Almon B. “Gus” Hohmann (born 1897 in Texas).  Gus and Dosia Hohmann were the parents of at least four children:

   Dosie Mae Rippy, b. May 1, 1934, Hays County, Texas

Oran and Vida Rippy were later divorced.

R. Whitcomb.  Edward and Donna Hill are the parents of two children:

ALFRED HILL (12.5.3) is the son of Thomas Henry Hill and Frances Adeline (Massey) Hill.  Alfred was born on July 27, 1893 in Hays County, Texas.  Alfred Hill married Clara Glass and they were later divorced.  On June 30, 1918, Alfred Hill married a second time to Eula May Hudson (born 1903 in Texas).  Alfred and Eula May Hill were the parents of two children:

   Cecil Alford Hill
   Hudson H. Hill

In 1920, Alfred and Eula Hill were living in Hays County, Texas.  Alfred Hill died prior to 1964.  After Alfred Hill died, Eula May married again and later was divorced.  Eula then married again to Mack Roberts, a cousin of Alfred Hill.  Cecil Hill and his wife, Maxine Hill, had two children:  -  Donna Hill,  -  Alford Hill.  In 1964, Cecil Hill was living in Austin, Texas.  Hudson Hill and his wife, Patty Hill, had one son.  In 1964, Hudson Hill was living in Austin, Texas.

Hill and Mary Ann (Reed) Hill.  Nancy was born on January 11, 1855 in Arkansas.  On September 28 1878, Nancy Hill married John Martin Laidley in Hays County, Texas.  John was born on September 17, 1857 in Texas and is the son of Thomas Laidley, MD.  From 1880 to 1920, John and Nancy Laidley were living in Hays County, Texas.  John and Nancy Laidley were the parents of four children:

THEODORE LAIDLEY (12.6.2) is the son of John Martin Laidley and Nancy J. (Hill) Laidley.  Theodore was born in March of 1881 in Hays County, Texas.  Around 1901, Theo Laidley married Pearl Etta Roberts (born July 1, 1881 in Texas).  From 1910 to 1930, Theo and Pearl Laidley were living in Hays County, Texas.  Theo and Pearl Laidley were the parents of five children:

   Guy Sidney Laidley, b. August 6 1901, Texas
   Clyde Laidley, b. 1904, Texas
   Oren Eugene Laidley, b. 1908, Texas
   Winnie Mae “Windi” Laidley, b. 1911, Hays County, Texas

Theodore Laidley died on October 18, 1958 and was buried in the San Marcos City Cemetery.  Pearl E. Laidley died on January 24, 1951 and was buried in the San Marcos City Cemetery.  Guy Sidney Laidley was the father of three children:  -  Guy S. Laidley Ray, Jr.,  -  George Eugene Laidley Ray,  -  Leona Laidley Ray.  Guy Laidley died on October 15, 1956 and was buried in the San Marcos City Cemetery.  It appears that the Laidley children were adopted by a Mr. Ray after Guy Laidley, Sr. died.  Guy S. Laidley Ray, Jr. was the father of four children:  -  Donna Jean Ray,  -  Richard Ray,  -  Gary Ray,  -  David Ray.  Guy S. Laidley Ray, Jr. died prior to 1964.  Leona Laidley Ray married a Mr. Smith.  In 1964, Owen Laidley was living in Temple City, California.  Helen Laidley married a Warren Leory “Lee” Albright and they have one daughter:  -  Joy Albright , b. 1935.  In 1964, Helen (Laidley) Allbright was living in St. Petersburg, Florida.  In 2004, Helen (Laidley) Albright was living in Franklin, North Carolina.  Joy Albright married Nolen Stanford and both have a real estate business in Austin, Texas.  As of 2004, Nolen and Joy Stanford were living in Austin, Texas.  Winnie Mae Laidley married a Mr. Clewis.  In 1964, Winnie Mae (Laidley) Clewis was living in San Antonio, Texas.

LOUIS C. LAIDLEY (12.6.4) is the son of John Martin Laidley and Nancy J. (Hill) Laidley.  Louis was born on May 17, 1893 in Hays County, Texas.  In 1920, “Lewis” Laidley and his wife, Dora L. Laidley (born 1886 in Michigan), were living in Hays County, Texas.  Louis was a butcher.  Dora was previously married to a Mr. Bennett and they had two children:  -  Earl L. Bennett (born 1906 in Michigan) and Helen A. Bennett (born 1908 in Michigan).  Louis and Dora Laidley were the parents of one daughter:

MARGARET HILL (12.7) is the daughter of John W. Hill and Mary Ann (Reed) Hill.  Maggie was born on November 28 1858 in Arkansas.  On April 9, 1879, Maggie Hill married Edward G. Massey in Hays County, Texas.  Ed was born in September, 1854 in Texas.  From 1880 to 1900, Ed and Maggie Massey were living in Hays County, Texas.  Ed and Maggie Massey were the parents of nine children:

In 1910, Maggie (Hill) Massey was living with her children in Hays County, Texas.  Maggie (Hill) Massey died on November 1, 1918 in San Marcos, Texas.  Ben Massey died prior to 1964.  Molly Massey married a Mr. Brock.  Molly (Massey) Brock died prior to 1964.  In 1920, Will Massey and most of his siblings were living in San Marcos, Hays County, Texas.  In 1930, Willie Massey was living with his cousin, Rhoda (Hill) Frazier, in San Marcos, Hays County, Texas.  Willie Massey died prior to 1964.  In 1964, Eugene Massey was living in San Antonio, Texas.  Charlie Massey died prior to 1964.  Mattie Massey married a Mr. Morrow.  In 1964, Mattie (Massey) Morrow was living in San Antonio, Texas.  Bea Massey married a Mr. Stockton.  In 1964, Bea (Massey) Stockton was living in San Antonio, Texas.  Addie Massey married a Mr. Moths.  In 1964, Addie (Massey) Moths was living in San Antonio, Texas.

BENJAMIN F. HILL (12.8) is the son of John W. Hill and Mary Ann (Reed) Hill.  Ben was born on July 2, 1860 in Texas.  In 1900, Ben Hill was living with Ed Leath in Hays County, Texas.  Ben Hill married Alice Roberts (born 1878 in Texas).  Ben and Alice Hill were the parents of one daughter:

Ben Hill married a second time to a Miss Jones in San Marcos, Texas.  Ben Hill died on February 24, 1912 and was buried in the Wimberley Cemetery in Wimberley, Texas.  In 1920, Alice (Roberts) Hill and her daughter, Beatrice Hill, were living in Hays County, Texas.  Beatrice Hill married a Mr. Payne.  In 1964, Beatrice (Hill) Payne was living in San Marcos, Texas.

JAMES M. “ROBERT” HILL (12.9) is the son of John W. Hill and Mary Ann (Reed) Hill.  Bob was born on September 12, 1866 in Texas.  Early in his life, Bob Hill travelled with “Buffalo Bill” Cody’s famous wild west show as a cowboy performer.  He was a personal friend of Cody’s and knew Annie Oakley, the famous woman trick shot.  Around 1908, Bob Hill married Lizzie C. Dailey.  Lizzie was born in 1878 in Texas and is the daughter of Mary Dailey (born 1848 in Texas).  From 1920 to 1930, James and Lizzie Hill were living in Hays County, Texas.  In 1930, Lizzie’s mother, Mary Dailey, was living with Bob and Lizzie Hill.  Bob Hill operated a grocery store on Blanco Street in San Marcos, Texas for many years.  Bob Hill died on October 9, 1936 in San Marcos, Texas and was buried in the San Marcos City Cemetery.   Lizzie (Dailey) Hill was buried in the San Marcos City Cemetery.

RHODA HILL (13) is the daughter of John W. Hill and Mary Ann (Reed) Hill.  Rhoda was born on July 6, 1846 in Arkansas.  On September 17, 1868, Rhoda Hill married Francis Asberry Brooks in Texas.  Frank was born on August 22, 1837 in Talbot County, Georgia and is the son of Williamson Brooks and Susannah (Olliff) Brooks.  From 1870 to 1880, Frank and Rhoda Brooks were living in Hays County, Texas.  Frank and Rhoda Brooks were the parents of seven children:

   Julia Elvira Brooks, b. June 27, 1869, Hays County, Texas
   James Maderson Brooks, b. September 29, 1870, Hays County, Texas
   Benjamin Williamson Brooks, b. August 22, 1872, Hays County, Texas
   Francis Martin Brooks, b. January 28, 1874, Hays County, Texas

Rhoda (Hill) Brooks died of consumption on May 30, 1883 and was buried in the Wimberley Cemetery in Hays County, Texas.  On January 6, 1884, Frank Brooks married a second time to Mrs. Victoria Alabama (Glover) Deck.  Victoria was born on July 16, 1840 in Mobile, Alabama and is the daughter of G. N. Glover.  Victoria had twelve children by her previous marriage.  Frank and Victoria Brooks had one son:  Sylvester Wyatt Brooks (born February 18, 1885).  Frank Brooks died on July 28, 1897 and was buried in the Wimberley Cemetery in Hays County, Texas.

Forty-three pages of the book, “Brooks Family History” contains descendants of Francis Asberry Brooks.  Included are photographs of Frank Brooks, Rhoda (Hill) Brooks and their children.  Also included are eight pages of diary entries of Frank Brooks from 1867 to 1885.  This book is still available for sale and can be ordered from Robert Brooks Casey, 7202 Duffield Drive, Dallas, Texas 75248.  The cost of this 382 page book is $30.00 postage paid and includes around 4,500 names in its index.

On October 27, 1886, Julia Brooks married Albert Barney Egger in Hays County, Texas.  Barney was born on October 20, 1866 in Mississippi and is the son of James L. Egger and Susie (Dean) Egger.  Julia (Brooks) Egger died on September 19, 1900 in Hays County, Texas and was buried there in the Wimberley Cemetery.  Barney Egger married a second time to Julia’s cousin, Rhoda Ann Hill.  For additional information on the descendants of Barney and Rhoda Egger, see the sketch of Rhoda Ann Hill (12.1.7).  James Maderson Brooks died on October 13, 1895 in Hays County, Texas and was buried there in the Wimberley Cemetery.

On November 8, 1893, Francis “Martin” Brooks married Maude Melinda Meeks.  Maude was born on January 1, 1879 and is the daughter of Randolph Calhoun Meeks and Rachel Ellen (Baker) Meeks.  In 1900, Martin and Maude Brooks were living in Hays County, Texas.  Francis Martin Brooks died on January 28, 1907 in Hays County, Texas and was buried there in the Wimberley Cemetery.  Maude (Meeks) Brooks married a second time to Tom McClanahan.  Maude (Meeks) McClanahan died on April 23, 1958 in San Marcos, Texas.  On October 15, 1899, Robert Brooks married Julia Ann Bryan in Hillsboro, Texas.  Julia was born on April 28, 1878 in Brandon, Texas and is the daughter of Finus Ewing Bryan and Caledonia Ann (Revere) Bryan.  Robert Brooks died on January 25, 1951 in Elk City, Oklahoma and Julia (Bryan) Brooks died on May 3, 1961 in Elk City, Oklahoma.  Both were buried in the Canute Cemetery in Washita County, Oklahoma.

In 1900, Ben Brooks was living in Washita County, Oklahoma Territory.  On November 8, 1903, Ben Brooks married Ethel McDonald in Washita County, Oklahoma.  Ethel was born on May 2, 1885 in Harding, Missouri and is the daughter of John McDonald and LaDoskia (Smallwood) McDonald.  In 1910, Ben and Ethel Brooks were living in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.  Ben Brooks died on December 26, 1960 and Ethel (McDonald) Brooks died on December 23, 1979.  Both were buried in Elk City, Oklahoma.  On March 28, 1905, Ernest Brooks married Mary Wilson in Wimberley, Texas.  Mary was born on July 7, 1879 in Hays County, Texas and is the daughter of John Carle Wilson (Oleson) and Augusta (Boerne) Wilson.  Ernest Brooks died on January 18, 1957 in San Marcos, Texas and Mary (Wilson) Brooks died on June 24, 1972 in San Marcos, Texas.  Both were buried in the Wimberley Cemetery in Hays County, Texas.  Thomas A. Brooks died as an infant on December 20, 1882 in Hays County, Texas and was buried there in the Wimberley Cemetery.
