WILLIAM FRANKLIN BROOKS (2.3.4) is the son of Isham Brooks and Lezina (Daniel) Brooks.  William was born in 1820 in Putnam County, Georgia.  On June 8, 1841, William Brooks married Sarah Ann Elizabeth Jane Dority in Talbot County, Georgia.  Sarah is the daughter of John Dority and Nancy (Gant) Dority of Talbot County, Georgia.  Sarah’s sister, Rebecca Anderson Dority, married William Brooks’ first cousin, Jordan Williamson Slaughter (2.5.2).  William F. Brooks was an attorney and was one of the first attorneys allowed to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court when it opened for its first session in 1846 in his hometown of Talbotton, Georgia (this fact appears on a Georgia Historical Marker in Talbotton).  He was an officer of the Olive Masonic Lodge in Talbotton and was Grand Steward of the State or Grand Lodge of Georgia in 1849.  In 1850, William and Sarah Brooks were living in a hotel in Marietta, Georgia where William was deputy marshall.  William Brooks was also the 1850 census taker for all of Cobb County, Georgia.

ROBERT BROOKS (2.3.5) is the son of Isham Brooks and Lezina (Daniel) Brooks.  Robert was born on September 23, 1825 in Putnam County, Georgia.  On May 9, 1854, Robert Brooks married Sarah Elizabeth Robertson in Belleview, Talbot County, Georgia.  Sarah was born on November 11, 1835 and is the daughter of Henry Robertson and Teresa (Sikes) Robertson.  After the death of Sarah’s father, Teresa (Sikes) Robertson married Joseph Daniel Brooks (2.3.2), brother of Robert Brooks.  From 1860 to 1880, Robert and Sarah Brooks were living in Talbot County, Georgia.  Robert and Sarah Brooks were the parents of at least eight children:

Joseph Daniel Brooks’ will states the following:  “If all my heirs are dead, property (should) go to my brother Robert Brooks’ wife, Sarah E. Brooks, and her children.”  Sarah (Robertson) Brooks died on March 13, 1888 and Robert Brooks, Sr. died on February 8, 1896.  Robert and Sarah Brooks were buried in the Valley Cemetery in Talbot County, Georgia.  Edward I. Brooks died in December of 1896.  Thresa Eudora Brooks died in August of 1863.  Mary Julia Brooks died in February of 1891.

ELIZABETH ESTELLE BROOKS (2.3.5.1) is the daughter of Robert Brooks and Sarah Elizabeth (Robertson) Brooks.  Elizabeth was born on May 30, 1855 in Talbot County, Georgia.  On December 28, 1875, Elizabeth Brooks married Wilson S. Williams (born 1845 in Georgia) in Talbot County, Georgia.  Wilson and Elizabeth Williams were the parents of two children:

   Eva May Williams, b. 1878, Georgia
   Robert Wilson Williams, b. 1880, Georgia

In 1880, Wilson and Elizabeth Williams were living in Meriwether County, Georgia.  Elizabeth (Brooks) Williams died in October of 1883.

PRESTON ROBERTSON BROOKS (2.3.5.2) is the son of Robert Brooks and Sarah Elizabeth (Robertson) Brooks.  Preston was born on February 24, 1857 in Talbot County, Georgia.  In 1876, Preston accepted a position with a mercantile house in Forsyth, Georgia.  After three years of fighting consumption, Preston Robertson Brooks died without children on November 20, 1880 at his parents home, Robert and Elizabeth Brooks.  Preston Brooks was buried in the Valley Cemetery in Talbot County, Georgia.

WILEY AUGUSTUS BROOKS (2.3.5.6) is the son of Robert Brooks and Sarah Elizabeth (Robertson) Brooks.  Augustus was born on December 7, 1865 in Talbot County, Georgia.  In 1888, Augustus Brooks married Fannie Weston Kendrick.  Fannie is the daughter of William Thomas Kendrick and Levicie (Maddox) Kendrick.  Augustus and Fannie moved to Louisiana where Augustus was a teacher.  Augustus Brooks died in November of 1889 and was buried in the Valley Cemetery in Talbot County, Georgia.  Augustus and Fannie had no children.  In August of 1893, Fannie (Kendrick) Brooks married Henry Bunn Rentz in Columbus, Georgia and had children.  Fannie died on July 20, 1905 in Jacksonville, Florida and was buried in the Riverdale Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia.

CLARA DANELLE BROOKS (2.3.5.7) is the daughter of Robert Brooks and Sarah Elizabeth (Robertson) Brooks.  Clara was born on September 15, 1868 in Talbot County, Georgia.  On November 23, 1892, Clara Brooks married James Harnesberger Freeman.  James was born on June 28, 1867 and is the son of Mitchell S. Freeman and Ava (Noell) Freeman.  James and Clara Freeman were the parents of six children:

Clara (Brooks) Freeman died on March 17, 1945 and James H. Freeman died on June 29, 1947.  Both died in Orange Lake, Florida and both were buried in the Valley Cemetery in Talbot County, Georgia.  Elizabeth Estelle Freeman died prior to 1900.  On July 2, 1930, Leonard Freeman married Grace Woolley but they were later divorced on September 27, 1934.  On February 28, 1942, Leonard married a second time to Gladys Ford.  Leonard had no children by either marriage.  Leonard Freeman died in Decatur, Georgia on July 19, 1957 and was buried in the Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia.  Mary Virginia Freeman died on September 10, 1908.

ROBERT SAMUEL FREEMAN (2.3.5.7.1) is the son of James Harnesberger Freeman and Clara Danelle (Brooks) Freeman.  Robert was born on September 19, 1893.  On June 16, 1917, Robert Freeman married Mary Poole in Atlanta, Georgia and they were the parents of one daughter:

Mary (Poole) Freeman died on March 28, 1919.  On September 5, 1920, Robert Freeman married a second time to Nellie Belle Poole and they were the parents of one daughter:

   Annie Freeman, b. May, 1927

Nellie (Poole) Freeman died on July 2, 1964 and Robert Freeman died on October 13, 1964.  Both died in Atlanta and both were buried in Barnesville, Georgia.  On September 9, 1939, Clara Freeman married Luther Tom Brewer in Atlanta, Georgia and they had one daughter:  -  Patricia Diane Brewer, b. October 15, 1947.  Patricia married and has two children.  Clara (Freeman) Brewer lives in Panama City, Florida.  Annie Freeman died a few hours after she was born.

JAMES EDWARD FREEMAN (2.3.5.7.3) is the son of James Harnesberger Freeman and Clara Danelle (Brooks) Freeman.  James was born on March 16, 1900 in Talbot County, Georgia.  On September 16, 1923, James Freeman married Willie Tom Bass in Randolph County, Georgia and they were the parents of three children:

James Freeman, Sr. served 33 years in the United States Army and lives in Fairburn, Georgia.  On October 11, 1945, Caroline Freeman married Michael A. Bergamo in Fort Benning, Georgia and they have two children:  -  Julia Ann Bergamo, b. November 6, 1950, Richmond, Virginia,  -  James A. Bergamo, b. October 24, 1954, Richmond, Virginia.  As of 1981, Michael and Caroline Bergamo were living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Julia Bergamo married a Mr. Ganzert and had one son:  -  Bryan Ganzert, b. 1978.  Julia and her husband were later divorced.  James Bergamo and his wife, Debbie Bergamo, have no children.  James Edward Freeman, Jr. died a day after he was born on October 24, 1927.  On August 2, 1952, Theodore Freeman married Gloria Ann Lane in Birmingham, Alabama and they have five children:  -  Tina Ann Freeman, b. WILLIE CLAIRE FREEMAN (2.3.5.7.5) is the daughter of James Harnesberger Freeman and Clara Danelle (Brooks) Freeman.  Willie was born on January 25, 1906.  On October 26, 1923, Willie Freeman married Enos Guy Paul and they were the parents of two children:

Enos Guy Paul died on September 18, 1947.  On July 10, 1957, Willie Claire (Freeman) Paul married a second time to Walter G. Red and they live in St. Petersburg, Florida.  On December 22, 1950, Frances Paul married Fred W. Bartell in Orange Lake, Florida and they had four children:  -  Guy Paul Bartell, b. November 8, 1952,  -  Roger Frederick Bartell, b. November 11, 1955,  -   Alan Leonard Bartell, b. March 13, 1958,  -  Brian Lee Bartell, b. July 29, 1962.  Fred and Frances Bartell are now divorced and Frances lives in Ocala, Florida.  On December 22, 1953, Evelyn Claire Paul married Booker C. ALEXANDER SIDNEY BROOKS (2.3.6) is the son of Isham Brooks and Lezina (Daniel) Brooks.  Alexander was born in 1828 in Putnam County, Georgia.  On April 6, 1854, Alexander Brooks married Jane Eliza (Dickinson) Lowe in Upson County, Georgia.  Jane is the daughter of Levi Dickinson and Araminta (Thomas) Dickinson.  Jane was previously married to John Lowe on September 2, 1852 in Upson County, Georgia.  John Lowe died on October 8, 1852 at the age of 23.  Two years later, Jane married Alexander Sidney Brooks.  Alexander and Jane Brooks were the parents of eight children:

From 1854 to 1876, Alexander and Jane Brooks lived in Georgia.  Alexander Brooks served in Company I of the 32nd Georgia Infantry.  Alexander was a Lieutenant and was present at the surrender in Greensboro, North Carolina on April 26, 1865.  In 1880, Alexander and Jane Brooks were living in Dallas County, Texas.  Alexander Brooks was a Doctor.  Alexander Sidney Brooks died on April 10, 1891 and was buried in the Caruth Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.  Jane Eliza (Dickinson) Brooks died on December 25, 1894.  Thomas S. Brooks died on September 11, 1880 and was buried in the City Cemetery in Garland, Texas.  Augustus S. Brooks died on September 13, 1880 and was buried in the City Cemetery in Garland, Texas.  In 1932, Marcus Brooks was living near Tulia, Texas.  Edgar Marcus Brooks died on December 18, 1937 in Tulia, Texas.  Paul Brooks never married and died on March 10, 1910 in Dallas, Texas and was buried in the Oakland Cemetery in Dallas.

WILLIAM LUNSFORD BROOKS (2.3.6.1) is the son of Alexander Sidney Brooks and Jane Eliza (Dickinson) Brooks.  William was born on February 17, 1857 in Georgia.  In 1887, William Lunsford Brooks married Susan Belle Gwinn (born February, 1865) in Dallas County, Texas.  William and Susan Brooks were the parents of at least five children:

MARY DORMAN BROOKS (2.3.6.3) is the daughter of Alexander Sidney Brooks and Jane Eliza (Dickinson) Brooks.  Mary was born on September 14, 1861 in Thomaston, Georgia.  On February 27, 1881, Mary Brooks married Milburn Whitfield Kirby in Richardson, Texas.  Milburn was born on September 28, 1851 in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  Milburn and Mollie Kirby were the parents of three children:

   Olin W. Kirby, b. December 2, 1881, Richardson, Texas
   Allen C. Kirby, b. January 6, 1884, Dallas, Texas
   Eva May Kirby (2.3.6.3.2), b. January 27, 1885, Dallas, Texas

In 1900, Milburn and Mollie Kirby, their children, Olin and Eva, Milburn’s mother, Malvina and Mollie’s brother, Paul, were all living together in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.  Milburn Kirby died in 1909.  Mary (Brooks) Kirby died on November 27, 1950 and was buried in the Oakland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.  Olin Kirby never married.  Olin Kirby died in 1962 in Dallas, Texas and was buried there in the Oakland Cemetery.  Allen Kirby died on February 6, 1884 in Dallas, Texas and was buried in the Spring Creek Cemetery in Dallas County, Texas.

EVA MAY KIRBY (2.3.6.3.2) is the daughter of Milburn Whitfield Kirby and Mary Dorman (Brooks) Kirby.  Eva was born on January 27, 1885 in Dallas, Texas.  On June 30, 1907, Eva Kirby married William Wren Fair in Dallas, Texas.  William is the son of Andrew Jackson Fair and Corrie (Ferguson) Fair.  William and Eva Fair were the parents of at least six children:

CHARLES HENRY BROOKS (2.3.6.4) is the son of Alexander Sidney Brooks and Jane Eliza (Dickinson) Brooks.  Charles was born on October 9, 1863 in Upson County, Georgia.  Charles Henry Brooks married Lee Ann Tomlinson in Burleson County, Texas.  Lee Ann was born on May 14, 1865 in Washington County, Texas and is the daughter of William Tomlinson and Nancy (Flippin) Tomlinson.  Charles and Lee Ann Brooks were the parents of three children:

   William A. Brooks, b. October 4, 1884, Burleson County, Texas
   Norma May Brooks (2.3.6.4.2), b. January 27, 1886, Burleson County, Texas
   Lillie Dorma Brooks (2.3.6.4.3), b. November 4, 1888, Burleson County, Texas

Charles and Lee Ann Brooks were divorced on November 22, 1890 in Burleson County, Texas.  Charles Henry Brooks married a second time to Frances Cumie Cates in Waco, Texas.  Cumie was born in May of 1875 in Arkansas and is the daughter of John T. Cates and Frances (Harbour) Cates.  Charles and Cumie Brooks were the parents of one son:

   Charles Henry Brooks, Jr., b. July 13, 1894, Waco, Texas

In 1910, Charles and Cumie Brooks were living in Waco, McLennan County, Texas.  Charles Henry Brooks, Sr. died on April 11, 1932 in Waco, Texas and was buried there in the Oakwood Cemetery.  On November 26, 1890, Lee Ann (Tomlinson) Brooks married a second time to Jefferson Davis McCain and had three children:  Lee Roy McCain (born June 27, 1895), Susie McCain (born August 16, 1897), Viola McCain (born March 26, 1901).  Lee Ann (Tomlinson) McCain died on August 19, 1932 in Corsicana, Texas and was buried there in the Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.  Frances Cumie (Cates) Brooks died on February 4, 1967 in Dallas, Texas and was buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas.  William A. Brooks died on December 30, 1885 and was buried in the Chriesman Chapel Cemetery in Burleson County, Texas.  Charles H. Brooks, Jr. married Agnes Griswold (born 1894) and they had one adopted daughter:  -  Betty Mae Brooks.  Betty Brooks married Charles Henry Shettlesworth and lives in Dallas, Texas.  Agnes (Griswold) Brooks died on September 22, 1951.  Charles H. Brooks, Jr. died on July 29, 1980 in Dallas, Texas.

NORMA MAY BROOKS (2.3.6.4.2) is the daughter of Charles Henry Brooks and Lee Ann (Tomlinson) Brooks.  Norma was born on January 27, 1886 in Burleson County, Texas.  On September 13, 1904, Norma Brooks married Thomas Pierce Jett in Elkhart, Texas.  Thomas is the son of William Hamilton Jett and Clara (Pierce) Jett.  Thomas and Norma Jett were the parents of four children:

   Clara Lee Jett, b. September 20, 1905, Oakwood, Texas
   Bessie May Jett, Oakwood, Texas, b. April 13, 1908, Texas
   Maurine Jett, b. October 28, 1910, Oakwood, Texas
   Thomas Pierce Jett, Jr., b. April 1, 1916, Oakwood, Texas

Thomas Pierce Jett, Sr. was previously married.  Thomas and his first wife, Eddie Jett, were parents of one daughter:  Ina Leora Jett (born April 3, 1897).  Ina Jett died on May 3, 1913 in Oakwood, Texas.  Thomas Pierce Jett, Sr. died on October 19, 1956 in Moscow, Texas and Norma May (Brooks) Jett died on July 11, 1973 in Sisbee, Texas.  Both were buried in the Forrest Hill Cemetery in Livingston, Texas.  On December 24, 1923, Clara Jett married John Robert Anderson and they had two daughters:  -  Mabel Lee Anderson,  -  Billie Maurine Anderson.  Mabel Anderson married Charles R. Thompson.  Charles Thompson is deceased and Mabel lives in Fort Worth, Texas.  Billie Anderson married Lee Roy Bronson, Jr. and they live in Lumberton, Texas.  After the death of John Anderson, Clara (Jett) Anderson married a second time to G. D. Barrett.  Clara (Jett) Barrett died on October 1, 1969 in Kountze, Texas and was buried beside her first husband in the Old Hardin Cemetery.

On July 4, 1927, Bessie May Jett married Henry Collier Pitts and they had two children:  -  Paula Frances Robertson,  -  Henry Kirby Pitts.  After the death of Henry Pitts, Bessie May married a second time to a Mr. French and they live near Zavalla, Texas.  Paula Frances Pitts married R. M. Robertson.  Henry Kirby Pitts married a woman whose first name was Roberta.  On January 25, 1930, Maurine Jett married Milton Knox and they had no children.  They were married about twenty years when they were divorced.  Maurine (Jett) Knox died on March 5, 1982 in Jasper, Texas and was buried in Kountze, Texas.  Thomas Pierce Jett, Jr. died on November 7, 1929 in Moscow, Texas and was buried there.

LILLIE DORMA BROOKS (2.3.6.4.3) is the daughter of Charles Henry Brooks and Lee Ann (Tomlinson) Brooks.  Lillie was born on November 4, 1888 in Burleson County, Texas.  On May 10, 1906, Lillie Brooks married J. Robert Caskey in Elkhart, Texas.  Robert and Lillie Caskey were the parents of two children:

J. Robert Caskey died in 1909 in Elkhart, Texas.  On January 7, 1914, Lillie (Brooks) Caskey married a second time to Bryant Lee Brooks in Elkhart, Texas.  Bryant was born on July 18, 1881 in Jackson County, Florida and is the son of Henry Lewis Brooks and Martha Ann (Coonrod) Brooks.  Bryant and Lillie Brooks were the parents of five children:

After Robert Caskey’s death and Lillie’s second marriage, Ola and Pete Caskey were raised by their maternal grandmother, Lee Ann (Tomlinson) McCain.  Ola’s and Pete’s last names were changed to McCain.  Around 1930, Ola Mae McCain married Oscar Murray in Frio County, Texas.  As of 1981, Ola Mae (McCain) Murray lives in Dilley, Frio County, Texas.  On February 14, 1934, Pete McCain married Thelma Lee “Dinah” Thomas.  As of 1981, they live in Corsicana, Texas.

Bryant Lee Brooks died on May 23, 1954 and Lillie Dorma Brooks died on August 12, 1974.  Both were buried in the Riverside Cemetery in Mangum, Oklahoma.  Lester Brooks died in 1917 and was buried in the Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Elkhart, Texas.  Around 1936, Nancy Brooks married Roy L. Vaughan in Mangum, Oklahoma.  They currently reside in Mangum, Oklahoma and have two children:  -  Garland Lee Vaughan,  -  Rhonda Kay Vaughan.  Lincoln Brooks never married and resides in Mangum, Oklahoma.  Dortha Brooks married Hulen Vernon Falkner in Clovis, New Mexico and they have two children:  -  Delbert Dean Falkner,  -  Vernon Lee Falkner.  Hulen Falkner is deceased and Dortha (Brooks) Falkner lives in Mangum, Oklahoma.

VELMA ERNESTINE BROOKS (2.3.6.4.3.6) is the daughter of Bryant Lee Brooks and Lillie Dorma (Brooks) Brooks.  Velma was born on January 22, 1919 in Elkhart, Texas.  On January 19, 1940, Velma Brooks married Alfred Joseph Rocher in Mangum, Oklahoma.  Alfred was born on March 30, 1916 in Mangum, Oklahoma and is the son of John Rocher and Dora Liza (Jackson) Rocher.  Alfred and Velma Rocher are the parents of two children:

   Tom Wayne Rocher, b. November 9, 1943, Mangum, Oklahoma
   Karen Diann Rocher, b. September 23, 1949, Mangum, Oklahoma

Brooks married Maude Vivian Lomax in Floydada, Texas.  Maude was born on September 17, 1884 in Rock Creek (now Holbrook), Arkansas.  Alexander and Maude Brooks were the parents of three children:

   Hattie Belle Brooks, b. February 4, 1908, Tulia, Texas
   Charles Harrison Brooks, b. March 22, 1911, Tulia, Texas
   John Russell Brooks, b. January 5, 1919, Tulia, Texas

In 1932, Alexander H. Brooks was living near Tulia, Texas.  Alexander H. Brooks died on January 11, 1963 in Lubbock, Texas and was buried there in the City Cemetery.  Hattie Belle Brooks died on June 2, 1912 in Tulia, Texas.  Charles H. Brooks died on October 29, 1956 in Brownsville, Texas.  As of 1982, John Russell Brooks was living in Lubbock, Texas.
