PHINEAS STEVENSON (71.4.5) is the son of James Stevenson, II and Jane (Stevenson) Stevenson.  Phineas was born in 1790 in North Carolina.  Phineas Stevenson married Rachel Sherrill.  Rachel was born on July 13, 1794 and is the daughter of Jacob Sherrill and Sarah (Massey) Sherrill.  Phineas and Rachel Stephenson were the parents of at least four children:

In 1840, Phineas Stephenson (born 1780 to 1790) was living in Iredell County, North Carolina.  In 1850, Phineas Stephenson (born 1790 in North Carolina) and his wife, Isabella Stephenson (born 1795 in North Carolina), were living in Alexander County, North Carolina.  Phineas Stephenson and Rachel (Sherrill) Stephenson were buried in Statesville, North Carolina.

JACOB SHERRILL STEPHENSON (71.4.5.1) is the son of Phineas Stephenson and Rachel (Sherrill) Stephenson.  Jacob was born in 1811 in North Carolina.  Jacob Stephenson married Curtis Williams.  Curtis was born in 1810 in Iredell County, North Carollina and is the daughter of Aquilla Williams and Martha Williams.  Jacob and Curtis Stephenson were the parents of two children:

     Sarah Evaline Stephenson, b. July 21, 1836

Jacob Stephenson died on January 16, 1838 and was buried on the old farm plot at Pendleton, Warren County, Missouri.  On June 16, 1839, Curtis (Williams) Stephenson married a second time to Hedgeman Anderson.  Curtis (Williams) Anderson died on March 11, 1902 and was buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas.

WILLIAM FRANKLIN STEPHENSON (71.4.5.1.1) is the son of Jacob Sherrill Stephenson and Curtis (Williams) Stephenson.  William was born on July 27, 1834 in Iredell County, North Carolina.  On October 25, 1857, William Stephenson married Rebecca Ann Rankins in Lafayette County, Missouri.  Rebecca was born in February, 1835 in Kentucky.  William and Rebecca Stephenson were the parents of eleven children:

May 20, 1860) of William and Rebecca Stephenson died June 18, 1860.  Sallie Stephenson died on June 15, 1865.  James F. Stephenson died as a child on August 10, 1873.  J. Perry Stephenson died as a child in 1874.

MARY ELLEN STEPHENSON  (71.4.5.1.1.1) is the daughter of William Franklin Stephenson and Rebecca Ann (Rankins) Stephenson.  Mary was born on July 29, 1859 in Lafayette County, Missouri.  Mary E. Stephenson married Jake Beam.  Jake was born on April 1, 1858 in Dresden, Germany.  Jake and Mary Beam were the parents of four children:

     Katherine Rebecca Beam, b. March 10, 1883
     Forrest Beam, b. February 3, 1888
     William Beam, b. 1898

Jake Beam died on October 7, 1925 and was buried in San Francisco, California.  Florence Beam married Ernest Gaupp.  Ernest was previously married to Florence’s sister, Katherine Beam.  Katherine Beam married Ernest Gaupp.  Katherine (Beam) Gaupp died in 1916.  Ernest Gaupp died in 1963.  Ernest and Katherine Gaupp were buried in Leavenworth, Kansas.  Forrest Beam died as an infant on February 25, 1888.  William Beam married Grace Shoemaker.  William and Grace Beam lived in San Francisco, California.

On October 2, 1927, Joseph Stephenson married Lorene Zimmerman and they had two children:  -  Robert Stephenson,  -  Josephine Stephenson.  Jesse Stephenson married Grace Elizabeth Lane and in 1958 they lived in La Juanta, Colorado.  Jesse and Grace Stephenson had two children:  -  William Jessie Stephenson, b. April 11, 1926,  -  John Michael Stephenson, b. September 14, 1949.  On May 17, 1932, Bennis Stephenson married Fay Nola Thompson and they had four children:  -  Bennie Fay Stephenson,  -  Mickey Stephenson,  -  Rose Stephenson,  -  Donald Stephenson.

FRANKLIN HENRY STEPHENSON (71.4.5.1.1.7.1) is the son John Henry Stephenson and Rose Bell (Mestmaker) Stephenson.  Franklin was born on October 4, 1898.  On July 28,1922, Franklin Stephenson married Clara Ethel Henson.  Franklin and Clara Stephenson were the parents of three children:

     Franklin Henry Stephenson, Jr., b. January 21, 1923
     Thomas Logan Stephenson, b. December 31, 1926
     Richard Lee Stephenson, b. March 4, 1933

Franklin Henry Stephenson, Jr. married Nola Scholl and they lived in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  Franklin and Nola Stephenson were the parents of four children:  -  Donald Stephenson,  -  Susan Stephenson,  -  Steve Stephenson,  -  Jerry Stephenson.  Thomas Stephenson married Rozanne Stavanach and they lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Thomas and Rozanne Stephenson were the parents of three children:  -  Michael Thomas Stephenson,  -  Mary Patricia Stephenson,  -  Andrew Joseph Stephenson.  Richard Stephenson married Mae Beth Patterson and they lived in San Antonio, Texas.  Richard and Mae Stephenson were the parents of two children:  -  Brion Stephenson,  -  Scott Stephenson.

SAM WHITE STEPHENSON (71.4.5.1.1.10) is the son of William Franklin Stephenson and Rebecca Ann (Rankins) Stephenson.  Sam was born on March 31, 1876.  On February 8, 1899, Sam White Stephenson married Reta Jarety Hampton in Lafayette County, Missouri.  Reta was born on September 5, 1871 in Johnson County, Missouri and is the daughter of Silas Hampton and Mary (Brown) Hampton.  Sam and Reta Stephenson were the parents of one child:

     Loretta Beatrice Stephenson, b. May 15, 1911

Reta Jarety (Hampton) Stephenson died October 1, 1948 and was buried in Lafayette County, Missouri.  Sam White Stephenson died on February 21, 1961 and was buried in Battle Creek, Michigan.  In 1927, Loretta Stephenson married Horace Blackwell Wallace.  Loretta married a second time to Donald Belmont Hughey and a third time to Elmer Bingham.  Loretta divorced all three husbands and had no children.

CHARLES ALBERT STEPHENSON (71.4.5.1.1.11) is the son of William Franklin Stephenson and Rebecca Ann (Rankins) Stephenson.  Charles was born on April 13, 1878 in Missouri.  On July 19, 1915, Charles Stephenson married Anna Grace Shroyer.  Anna was born in Guthrie Center, Iowa.  They lived on the old home place settled in 1868 by Charles’s father, William Franklin Stephenson.  Charles and Anna Stephenson were the parents of two children:

     Ruth Lacrete Stephenson, b. August 26, 1918
     Thomas Alton Stephenson, b. September 14, 1921

Charles Stephenson died on December 19, 1967.  Ruth Stephenson married Alonzo Best Christy and they were the parents of two children:  -  Patricia Ann Christy, b. August 2, 1946,  -  Larry Eugene Christy, b. October 15, 1947.  They lived in Odessa, Missouri.  On February 19, 1966, Patricia Christy married Marvin Doak.  They live in Belton, Missouri.

On February 14, 1948, Thomas Stephenson married Maryln Geddis Emis and they were the parents of one child:  -  Donald Stephenson, b. September 8, 1950.  They live in Odessa, Misouri.

SARAH STEPHENSON (71.4.5.2) is the daughter of Phineas Stephenson and Rachel (Sherrill) Stephenson.  Sarah (Sally) was born in 1812 in North Carolina.  Sarah (Sally) Stephenson married James McCurdy, II.  James was born on October 25, 1811 and is the son of James McCurdy and Mary (Smith) McCurdy.  James and Sarah (Sally) McCurdy were the parents of at least six children:

In 1850, James and Sarah McCurdy were living in Alexander County, North Carolina.  James McCurdy died April 30, 1866 and was buried in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Alexander, County, North Carolina.  In 1870, Sarah (Stephenson) McCurdy was living in Alexander County, North Carolina.  Sarah (Stephenson) McCurdy died in 1871 and was buried in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Alexander, County, North Carolina.  Infant Son who was born on May 8, 1843, died May 8, 1843 and was buried in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Alexander County, North Carolina.  Isaac McCurdy died in the Civil War at Spottsylvania Court House.  William McCurdy died on April 1, 1862 and was buried in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Alexander County, North Carolina.  James C. McCurdy died as an infant on January 5, 1856 and was buried in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Alexander County, North Carolina.  John H. McCurdy died as a child on December 31, 1856 and was buried in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Alexander County, North Carolina.

MARY EVELINE McCURDY (71.4.5.2.5) is the daughter of James McCurdy and Sarah (Stephenson) McCurdy.  Mary was born on February 8, 1852 in Iredell County, North Carolina.  In 1868, Mary McCurdy married William Copeland Linney (born November 23, 1846 in North Carolina).  William and Mary Linney were the parents of twelve children:

From 1870 to 1900, William and Mary Linney were living in Alexander County, North Carolina.  Mary (McCurdy) Linney died on February 8, 1933 and William C. Linney died on August 3, 1937.  Both were buried in the Linney Grove Cemetery in Alexander County, North Carolina.  Sarah Linney married John Hendrew and they had three children:  -  Paul Hendrew,  -  Mary Elizabeth Hendrew,  -  Rochelle Hendrew.  Paul Hendrew was an Admiral in the United States Navy.  Mary Hendrew was a music teacher.  Rochelle Hendrew was a teacher.  Martha M. Linney married Marquis L. Weber and they had three children:  -  Irene Evelyn Weber,  -  Marquis Linney Weber,  -  Virginia Weber.  Virginia Weber married a Mr. Staress.

Lucy R. Linney married Wade H. Williams and they had four children:  -  Charlotte Williams,  -  Gene Williams,  -  Daughter (name unknown),  -  Wade H. Williams, Jr.  Charlotte Williams married W. C. Bigger.  Gene Williams was an automobile dealer.  Wade and Lucys daughter (name unknown) married John Tate Lanning who taught at Duke University.  Wade H. Williams, Jr. was a doctor and lived in Florida.  William T. Linney married Elsie F. Clark and they had three children:  -  Mary Evelyn Linney,  -  William C. Linney,  -  Gene Linney.  William C. Linney was a miller.  Gene Linney was an agriculture teacher.  Chauncey D. Linney married Mittie Ena Hill and they had one daughter:  -  Lucy Eveline Linney.  James C. Linney died at the age of twenty-three.  Vergil Linney died at the age of five.  Zella Linney died at the age of three.  Dorcas Linney died at the age of three.  Friday Linney died at the age of three.

ISAAC B. LINNEY (71.4.5.2.5.2) is the son of William Copeland Linney and Mary Eveline (McCurdy) Linney.  Isaac was born in March, 1871 in Alexander County, North Carolina.  In 1895, Isaac Linney married Julia Grace Gwaltney (71.4.2.1.1.1.2).  Grace was a third cousin once removed of Isaac Linney.  Isaac and Grace Linney were the parents of four children:

     Virgil Gates Linney, b. May, 1896, North Carolina
     James M. Linney, b. June, 1898, North Carolina
     Martha E. Linney, b. 1909, Alexander County, North Carolina

From 1900 to 1920, Isaac and Grace Linney were living in Alexander County, North Carolina.  Gates Linney was a postmaster in Fort Eustis, Virginia.  Garnette Linney married D. W. Patterson and they lived in Hiddenite, North Carolina.  Martha Linney was a teacher at Mare Hill College in North Carolina.
