WILLIAM SHELTON (1.5) is the son of John Shelton and Catherine (Messer) Shelton.  William was born on December 27, 1811 in Virginia.  Around 1835, William Shelton married Martha Pace, both direct ancestors of the authors.  Martha was born in April of 1817 in Scott County, Virginia and is the daughter of William Pace, Jr. and Elizabeth (Wininger) Pace.  For additional information on the descendants of William and Elizabeth Pace, see the sketch of William Pace, Jr. (15).  William and Martha Shelton were the parents of at least thirteen children:

CATHERINE SHELTON (1.5.1) is the daughter of William Shelton and Martha (Pace) Shelton.  Catherine was born on September 5, 1836 in Alabama.  On September 1, 1853, Catherine Shelton married William R. Duncan in Jackson County, Alabama.  William was born on March 30, 1832 in Alabama.  William and Catherine Duncan were the parents of at least six children:

Duncan died on December 25, 1904 in Texas.  Both were buried in the Shannon Cemetery in Clay County, Texas.  On July 21, 1887, Robert E. Duncan married Laura Boyd in Montague County, Texas.

Latham in Jackson County, Alabama.  Mary was born in 1858 in Alabama and is the daughter of John Latham and Milly (Carden) Latham.  Dave and Mary Duncan were the parents of four children:

ANGELU DUNCAN (1.5.1.2.4.1) is the daughter of Noah Benton Duncan and Alma Carma (McCray) Duncan.  Angelu was born on February 16, 1919 in Shannon, Clay County, Texas.  Angelu Duncan married Milburn Harlling Ruby (born June 14, 1913 in Shannon, Texas).  Milburn and Angelu Ruby were the parents of one son:

Milburn Ruby died on February 2, 1995 in Fort Worth, Texas and was buried in the Shannon Cemetery in Shannon, Texas.  On October 8, 1976, Don Ruby married Sharon E. Ames in Tarrant County, Texas.  On September 9, 1978, Don Ruby married a second time to Janie K. Hahn in Tarrant County, Texas.  Donald Ruby was shot to death and died on July 12, 2000 in Joy, Clay County, Texas.  Donald Ruby was buried in the Shannon Cemtery in Shannon, Texas.

DUNCAN (1.5.1.2.4.2) is the son of Noah Benton Duncan and Alma Carma (McCray) Duncan.  Noel was born on November 20, 1927 in Shannon, Texas.  On December 21, 1953, Noel Duncan married Peggy Ruth Thomas in Weatherford, Parker County, Texas.  Peggy was born on March 5, 1928 in Vernon, Texas and is the daughter of Finley Hubert Thomas and Inez Iowa (Hill) Thomas.  Noel and Peggy Duncan are the parents of one daughter:

  Sandra Lou Duncan, b. March 31, 1958, Fort Worth, Texas

Noel and Peggy Duncan were divorced in 1963.  Noel B. Duncan died of congestive heart failure on September 30, 1993 in Seattle, Washington.  On September 11, 1974, Sandra Duncan married Donald Morrison Rankin in Fort Worth, Texas.  Donald was born on February 22, 1951 in Poteet, Texas and is the son of Jack Rankin and Louise (Rowinsky) Rankin.  Donald and Sandra Rankin have one son:  -  James Robert Rankin, b. November 8, 1975, Dallas, Texas.  Donald and Sandra Rankin were divorced in 1977.

Tarpley.  Ivory (Duncan) died on January 15, 1994 and was buried in the Oakwood Cemtery in Jacksboro, Texas.  William A. Tarpley was buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Jacksboro, Texas.  Hattie Duncan married Claudie E. McFathers.  Ozella Duncan married John T. Hawkins.  Jesse May Duncan died as a child in 1924 in Texas and was buried in the Shannon Cemetery.  On June 16, 1947, James Duncan married June Barrett in Amarillo, Texas.  James Duncan died on June 29, 1998 in Lubbock, Texas and was buried there in the Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.

Cantrell died at the age of six years and was buried in Iowa Park, Texas.  Foye Duncan married Leatha Irene Ellis.  Leatha was born on January 27, 1921 in Greenville, New Mexico and is the daughter of Asa Benjamin Ellis and Lula Mae (Hamilton) Ellis.  Foye and Leatha Duncan had two children:  -  Earnestine Duncan,  -  Foye Ellis Duncan.  Leatha (Ellis) Duncan died on December 22, 1983 in Wichita Falls, Texas and Foye Duncan died on November 7, 1993 in Wichita Falls, Texas.  Earnestine Duncan married Bruce Broyles and they have one daughter:  -  Stephanie Broyles.  Stephanie Broyles died in an auto accident on November 23, 1997 in College Station, Texas and was buried in the Shannon Cemtery.

RHODA DUNCAN (1.5.1.3) is the daughter of William R. Duncan and Catherine (Shelton) Duncan.  Rhoda was born around 1860 in Alabama.  Rhoda Duncan married William K. Bill Latham (20.1.8.4).  Bill was born on January 15, 1854 and is the son of Thomas Latham and Nancy Jane (Harper) Latham.  Bill and Rhoda Latham were the parents of at least five children:

Duncan and Catherine (Shelton) Duncan.  James was born in May of 1861 in Alabama.  On June 2, 1887, James Duncan married Celena Payne in Montague County, Texas.  Celena was born in June, 1869 in Mississippi.  James and Saline Duncan had at least two children:

  Bertha Duncan, b. March, 1895, Texas

In 1900, James and Saline Duncan were living in Montague County, Texas.  Dona Duncan married Walter Cope and they have three children:  -  Walter Cope, Jr.,  -  Awbrey Cope,  -  Ruth Vernell Cope.

NOAH B. DUNCAN (1.5.1.6) is the son of William R. Duncan and Catherine (Shelton) Duncan.  Noah was born in April of 1871 in Arkansas.  Noah Duncan married Drusilla Bolt (born August, 1873 in Arkansas).  Noah and Drusilla Duncan were the parents of at least two children:

  Olive C. Duncan, b. December, 1895, Texas
  John William Duncan, b. June 14, 1899, Greer County, Oklahoma

In 1900, Noah and Drusilla Duncan were living in Clay County, Texas.  Noah Duncan was a teacher.  James and Drusilla Duncan died in the 1950s.  Olive Duncan married Aylmer Owen in Greer County, Oklahoma where they remainded all of their lives.  Aylmer and Olive Owen had no children.  In 1924, John “Jack” Duncan married Lillian M. McKenzie (born March 31, 1905 in Tennessee).  Jack was a bookeeper for the Mangum Cotton Oil Mill, then he entered the real estate and insurance business as a partner with Louis M. Tittle in Mangum, Oklahoma.  In 1942, he purchased his partners share and continues the business as J. W. ANNIE LORENE SHELTON (1.5.2.1.6.1) is the daughter of Horace Nathaniel Shelton and Lou Ella (Gentle) Shelton.  Lorene was born on June 20, 1913 in Alabama.  On May 26, 1929, Lorene Shelton married Reedus Steele Joiner (born October 22, 1902).  Reedus and Lorene Joiner were the parents of two daughters:

  Loretta Joiner, b. December 13, 1931

Reedus Joiner died on October 17, 1978.  On May 2, 1950, Margene Joiner married Henry Ernest Hudson (born July 11, 1930) and they have one son:  -  Russell Allan Hudson, b. RUSSELL ERSKIN SHELTON (1.5.2.1.8.3) is the son of Sidney Green Shelton and Minnie Mae (Coffee) Shelton.  Russell was born on October 31, 1930.  Russel Shelton served in the military in Korea.  Russell and his wife, Betty Shelton, are the parents of six children:

Patricia Ann Shelton married a Mr. Sanders and they have two children:  -  Carrie Sanders,  -  Robert Lee Sanders.  Carrie Sanders married a Mr. Snyder and they have two children:  -  Calib Snyder,  -  Christen Danielle Snyder.  Carrie Sanders married a second time to Dallas Eugene Stewart.  Rusty Shelton and his wife, Gerry Anne Shelton, have two chlidren:  -  Josh Shelton,  -  Lori Shelton.  Rhonda Shelton married a Mr. Brogdon and they have one son:  -  Christopher Brogdon.  Rhonda maried a second time to a Mr. Cheatam and they have one daughter:  -  Debbie Cheatam.  Rhonda married a third time to Michael Mooney.  Christopher Brogdon and his wife, Amber Brogdon, have one child:  -  Alyssa Noel Brogdon.  Debbie Cheatam married a Mr. Jones and they have one child:  -  Chase Riley Jones.  Debbie married a second time to a Mr. Gerran and they have one child:  -  Meesha Diane Gerran.  Debbie married a third time to Jim Cheatam and they have one son:  -  Autry Jamison Cheatam.

Tonya Shelton married a Mr. Hudson and they have three children:  -  Dewayne Hudson,  -  Michael Hudson,  -  Elizabeth Hudson.  Tonya married a second time to a Mr. Lovette and they have one child:  -  T. J. Lovette.  Randy Shelton has not married and has no children.  Sharon Shelton married a Mr. Walz and they have two children:  -  Katlynn Walz,  -  Michael Walz.  Sharon married a second time to Tommy Smith and they have two children:  -  Evelyn Smith,  -  Michael Smith.
