John Kennedy, Jr. graduated from Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia Law School. John was a Navy veteran and a member of the Naval Reserve until 1970. He practiced law with the firm of John G. Kennedy and John W. Sognier until January of 1980. John served as the head of the education committee of the Savannah Chamber of Commerce and was instrumental in forming the Citizens Committee for Education which was sucessful in raising substantial additional funds for the local public school system in the 1950s. He was the president and managing partner of Kennedy and Lewis, P. C. He was also president of National Building Company. John Kennedy, Jr. died on June 18, 1992 in Savannah, Georgia and was buried in the Bonaventure Cemetery. Connie Kennedy married a Mr. Darbyshire. As of June of 1992, Connie (Austin) Kennedy was living in Savannah, Georgia, John G. Kennedy, III was living in New York, Austin Kennedy was living in Charlotte, North Carolina and Connie (Kennedy) Darbyshire was living in Savannah, Georgia.
