JOHN LACOUNTE OLLIFF (1.3.2.4) is the son of William Harvey Olliff and Eleanor Caroline (Tyner) Olliff.  John was born on June 17, 1856 in Clay County, Georgia.  On March 18, 1886, John Olliff married Lula Elizabeth Martin.  Lula was born on July 10, 1858 in Randolph County, Georgia and is the daughter of George W. Martin and Sarah J. Martin.  John and Lula Olliff settled near Bluffton, Georgia just across the county line in Early County, Georgia.  John and Lula Olliff were the parents of six children:

   John Carlton Olliff, b. March 9, 1888, Georgia
   Ester Bartie Olliff, b. November 29, 1890, Georgia
   Thomas Bradley Olliff, b. February 7, 1893, Georgia
   George Harvey Olliff, b. August 7, 1894, Georgia
   Lula Bernice Olliff, b. July 20, 1895, Georgia
   Martin Tyner Olliff (1.3.2.4.6), b. July 23, 1899, Early County, Georgia

John L. Olliff died on January 11, 1900.  From 1900 to 1910, Lula (Martin) Olliff was living with her children in Early County, Georgia.  Lula (Martin) Olliff died of tuberculosis on April 20, 1924 in Montgomery, Alabama.  John C. Olliff never married and died of tuberculosis on January 5, 1914.  Bartie Olliff never married and died of diptheria on March 25, 1903.  Thomas Olliff died as a child on December 18, 1897.  George Olliff died as an infant on December 18, 1895.

Lula “Bernice” Olliff married Thomas Elton Collins (born April 3, 1895 in Bluffton, Georgia).  Thomas and Bernice Collins had one son:  -  Thomas Elton Collins, Jr., b. September 5, 1920.  Bernice was an artist, several of her watercolors being prized by several members of the family.  Bernice (Olliff) Collins died on October 9, 1920 and was buried in an unmarked grave in Bluffton, Georgia.  Thomas Collins, Sr. died on May 19, 1940.  Thomas Collins, Jr. was a pilot in the Air Corps during World War II.  Thomas Collins, Jr. married Nell Johnson (born August 30, 1919) and they have two children:  -  Thomas Elton Collins, III, b. August 2, 1949,  -  Robert Millard Collins, b. February 1, 1953.

MARTIN TYNER OLLIFF (1.3.2.4.6) is the son of John Lacounte Olliff and Lula Elizabeth (Martin) Olliff.  Martin was born on July 23, 1899 in Early County, Georgia.  Martin Olliff married Jimmie Lou Head.  Jimmie was born on December 13, 1904 in Luverne, Alabama.  Martin left home when in his teens and worked the wheat fields out West and up into Canada.  He eventually settled in Montgomery, Alabama.  In 1920, Martin Olliff was living with his uncle, Allen L. Martin, in Montgomery County, Alabama.  Martin worked as a salesman for the Power Company and the Alabama Gas Company.  During the depression, he became a pipe fitter and eventually went into his own business.  He was an inspector of natural gas for the City of Montgomery for several years.  Martin and Jimmie Olliff are the parents of three children:

Martin Olliff, Sr. died on June 23, 1969.  Martin Olliff, Jr. married Mary Elizabeth Williamson (born March 6, 1933 in Excel, Alabama).  Martin and Mary Olliff have four children:  -  Martin Tyner Olliff, III, b. June 15, 1955, New Jersey,  -  Snowden Thomas Olliff, b. March 5, 1957, New Jersey,  -  Elizabeth Ann Olliff, b. June 19, 1961,  -  James Carlton Olliff, b. April 29, 1969.  Martin Olliff, Jr. received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 1954.  Martin and Mary Olliff lived for about five years in New Jersey where Martin worked for DuPont.  They later moved to Huntsville, Alabama where Martin works for Thiokol Chemical Corporation.  In 1971, Martin Olliff, Jr. published a 100 page book on the Olliff family which concentrated on John Shears Olliff’s son, Benjamin Shears Olliff (1.3).  Mary (Williamson) Olliff received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementery Education from Alabama College in Montevallo, Alabama.  Martin Olliff, Jr. died on March 23, 2003 in Huntsville, Alabama.  Mary Elizabeth Olliff died as a child of complications arising from chicken pox on June 23, 1935.

On December 29, 1938, Carolyn Olliff married Jason Herman Money (born December 29, 1938 in Ramar, Alabama) and they have four children:  -  Deborah Elaine Money, b. November 20, 1958,  -  Robert Allen Money, b. February 21, 1961,  -  Lisa Chantelle Money, b. May 6, 1965,  -  Stacy Lynn Money, b. September 14, 1967.  Jason Money is a career Army man.  Carolyn married a second time to Robert Fryer of Montgomery County, Alabama.  As of 1989, Robert and Carolyn Fryer were living in Lowdnes County, Alabama.

HESTER FRANCES OLLIFF (1.3.2.6) is the daughter of William Harvey Olliff and Eleanor Caroline (Tyner) Olliff.  Hester was born on January 26, 1861 in Clay County, Georgia.  On December 29, 1881, Hester Olliff married Everett Joel Bass (born March 12, 1862 in Calhoun County, Georgia).  Everett and Hester Bass were the parents of twelve children:

After a brief excursion to Leesburg, Florida, Everett and Hester Bass settled in the “Old Home Place.”  From 1900 to 1910, Everett and Hettie Bass were living in Calhoun County, Georgia.  In 1900, Hester’s mother, Eleanor, was living with them.  Everett Bass died on May 3, 1913 and Hester (Olliff) Bass died on June 29, 1943.  Both were buried in the Mars Hill Cemetery about two miles west of Edison, Georgia.  Mary Eleanor Bass died as a child on May 15, 1890.  Everett Eugene Bass died as a child on September 2, 1896.  In the later part of his life, George Bass moved to Ashville, North Carolina to be near his niece, Mattie Harrison, who had contracted tuberculosis.  George Bass never married and died in an auto accident on August 22, 1933.

On June 20, 1926, Thera Bass married Lamar Brogden and they had two children:  -  Mitchel Everett Brogden, b. October 28, 1929,  -  Roy Bass Brogden, b. September 1, 1934.  Thera (Bass) Brogden died on January 14, 1944.  Mitchel Brogden married and had one son:  -  Robert Dale Brogden.  Roy Brogden married and had three children.  On September 23, 1923, Johnnie Bass married Raymond Hershell Sowell (born August 6, 1903 in Effingham County, Georgia) and they have one son:  -  Raymond Hershell Sowell, Jr., b. July 20, 1925, Effingham County, Georgia.  In 1967, Raymond and Johnnie Sowell were living in Thunderbolt, Georgia where Raymond operates a service station.  Raymond Sowell, Jr. married Lillian M. Sanders (born December 23, 1925) and they have two children:  -  Richard Lee Sowell, b. January 30, 1946,  -  Robert Steven Sowell, b. May 6, 1958.

On June 17, 1926, Roy Bass married Vera Amelia Dixon (born August 30, 1904 in Cleveland County, North Carolina).  Roy and Vera Bass live in Hendersonville, North Carolina.  Roy and Vera Bass have two children:  -  Jack Olliff Bass, b. March 11, 1927,  -  Frances Amelia Bass, b. May 23, 1929.  On February 28, 1953, Jack Bass married Jeanette Elizabeth Garren and they have four children:  -  Dennis Garron Bass, b. May 8, 1954,  -  Donald Clifford Bass, b. April 8, 1956,  -  Jack Olliff Bass, Jr., b. April 2, 1961,  -  Anne Amelia Bass, b. May 14, 1965.  On September 2, 1950, Frances Bass married James Graham White, Jr. and they have three children:  -  James Graham White, III, b. July 16, 1951,  -  Vera Sue White, b. February 4, 1955,  -  Jeffery Bass White, b. April 28, 1959.  On September 23, 1938, Fred Bass married Reba Ann Ausley and they have no children.  Fred and Reba Bass live in Des Plains, Illinois where Fred is a corporate secretary with American Bakeries.

JAMES WILLIAM BASS (1.3.2.6.2) is the son of Everett Joel Bass and Hester Frances (Olliff) Bass.  Will was born on October 18, 1884 in Georgia.  On December 19, 1905, Will Bass married Maggie Lucretia Bell (born October 17, 1883).  Will and Maggie Bass were the parents of five children:

   Alice Frances Bass, b. October 12, 1906, Georgia
   Iris Mae Bass, b. August 12, 1911
   Beulah Esther Bass, b. February 14, 1915
   Mary Will Bass, b. October 20, 1919
   Sara Evelyn Bass, b. August 2, 1921

In 1910, Will and Maggie Bass were living in Calhoun County, Georgia.  Will inherited the “Old Home Place” and maintained it until he felt that his age no longer permitted him to keep up the farm.  Will Bass operated a small grocery store about one mile west of Edison, Georgia.  Alice Bass married Marvin E. Ward (born September 13, 1903) and they had no children.  Marvin E. Ward died on October 30, 1953.  Iris Bass married George W. Green (born December 29, 1909) and they have one daughter:  -  Mary Ann Green, b. May 7, 1937.  George W. Green died on June 30, 1934.  On August 30, 1959, Mary Ann Green married Robert J. Culpepper (born June 29, 1936) and they have two children:  -  Allison Culpepper, b. November 20, 1962,  -  Robert J. Culpepper, Jr., b. April 12, 1966.

Beulah Bass married William Perry Plexico and they have two children:  -  James William Plexico, b. July 14, 1942,  -  Peggie Lucretia Plexico, b. October 18, 1944.  On January 17, 1965, James Plexico married Charolette Murriel Johnson (born December 19, 1944).  On July 19, 1966, Peggie Plexico married Emmett Edward Plowden, Jr.  On July 1, 1941, Mary Bass married Malcomb Anderson and they have two children:  -  Mary Carol Anderson, b. May 10, 1945,  -  Mack Anderson, b. December 21, 1947.  On March 6, 1947, Sara Bass married Jack Goddard and they have two children:  -  Alice Kay Goddard, b. September 14, 1948,  -  Susan Goddard, b. August 23, 1951.

MATTIE LEONA BASS (1.3.2.6.3) is the daughter of Everett Joel Bass and Hester Frances (Olliff) Bass.  Mattie was born on October 17, 1886 in Georgia.  On April 19, 1906, Mattie Bass married William E. Harrison (born April 26, 1885).  William and Mattie Harrison were the parents of three children:

   Mattie Leona Harrison, b. December 20, 1909
   Walter Luke Harrison, b. September 18, 1912

Mattie (Bass) Harrison died on December 7, 1918 and William E. Harrison died on January 12, 1941.  Howard Harrison married Alvis Townes and they have one daughter:  -  Sandra Leona Harrison.  Mattie Harrison married Dr. Hagan Wood and they had no children.  Walter Harrison married Edith Vaughn (born October 16, 1918) and they had three children:  -  Gail Harrison, b. April 24, 1941,  -  William Luke Harrison, b. April 17, 1943,  -  Joan Varner Harrison, b. November 14, 1954.  Edith (Vaughn) Harrison died on August 15, 1955.  Walter Harrison married a second time to Betty Johnson (born November 28, 1923) and they have two children:  -  Lenaire Arlene Harrison, b. MYRLER OMETTA BASS (1.3.2.6.4) is the daughter of Everett Joel Bass and Hester Frances (Olliff) Bass.  Myrler was born on July 19, 1888 in Georgia.  On December 14, 1904, Myrler Bass married John Calvin Harrison.  John and Myrler Harrison lived in Birmingham, Alabama.  John and Myrler Harrison were the parents of four children:

   Eleanor Harrison, b. January 2, 1908
   Charles Edwin Harrison, b. August 18, 1915
   Carolyn Ruth Harrison, b. July 26, 1920

John C. Harrison died in 1958.  On November 3, 1927, John E. Harrison married Willie Bennett and they have three children:  -  Betty Jean Harrison, b. April 25, 1930,  -  Joan Harrison, b. June 19, 1933,  -  Donald Everett Harrison, b. December 12, 1935.  On November 27, 1948, Betty Harrison married Alton Hand and they have five children:  -  Barbara Lee Hand, b. February 6, 1951,  -  Sandra Kay Hand, b. September 5, 1952,  -  Nancy Gay Hand, b. May 5, 1954,  -  Murry Hand (twin),  -  Curry Hand (twin).  Joan Harrison married Melvin Bolling.  Donald Harrison married Betty Thompson and they have three children:  -  Donnetta Harrison,  -  John Harrison,  -  Holly Harrison, b. 1965.

On September 7, 1934, Eleanor Harrison married Charles L. Huffman.  Charles L. Huffman died in 1958.  On February 9, 1940, Charles Harrison married Lillian Dickerson and they have one daughter:  -  Barbara Ann Harrison, b. November 5, 1945.  On May 27, 1938, Carolyn Harrison married Paul Norell and they have one daughter:  -  Myrler Ellen Norell, b. June 2, 1944.

LOIS MISSOURI BASS (1.3.2.6.5) is the daughter of Everett Joel Bass and Hester Frances (Olliff) Bass.  Lois was born on March 5, 1890 in Georgia.  On November 13, 1910, Lois Bass married Steven Clay Fain (born November 12, 1889).  Steven and Lois Fain settled near Fort Gaines, Georgia where Steve was a mail carrier.  Steven and Lois Fain were the parents of two children:

   Marcene Clay Fain, b. August 30, 1911
   James Clemon Fain, b. March 26, 1915

Steven C. Fain died on October 26, 1938.  On July 4, 1934, Marcene Fain married Dorothy Puckett (born August 25, 1914) and they had no children.  In 1967, Marcene Fain lived in Atlanta, Georgia.  On June 17, 1939, James Fain married Irma Hayes (born May 21, 1915) and they have three children:  -  James Clemon Fain, Jr., b. September 26, 1946,  -  Marcia Louise Fain, b. August 9, 1949,  -  Kathleen Lois Fain, b. October 12, 1952.  In 1967, James Fain lived in Atlanta, Georgia.

ESTER TYNER BASS (1.3.2.6.7) is the daughter of Everett Joel Bass and Hester Frances (Olliff) Bass.  Ester was born on April 22, 1894 in Georgia.  On October 9, 1918, Ester Bass married Idus Buckner Jones (born February 19, 1890).  Idus and Ester Jones were the parents of two children:

   Freddie Bell Jones, b. December 31, 1923
   Hettie Eugenia Jones, b. August 28, 1928

In 1967, Idus and Ester Jones lived in Arlington, Georgia.  On August 2, 1949, Freddie Jones married Gregory Winston McQuaig and they have three children:  -  Lorna Dale McQuaig, b. July 16, 1950,  -  Gregory Winston McQuaig, Jr., b. November, 1954,  -  Freddie Susan McQuaig, b. February 10, 1956.  Gregory McQuaig, Jr. died when only three days old.  On August 24, 1946, Hettie Jones married Edgar Kent Cheney (born November 2, 1926) and they have three children:  -  Shirley Jean Cheney, b. July 25, 1948,  -  Susan Jan Cheney, b. October 23, 1952,  -  Edgar Kent Cheney, Jr., b. June 21, 1955.

KEELAND ZADOCK OLLIFF (1.3.2.8) is the son of William Harvey Olliff and Eleanor Caroline (Tyner) Olliff.  Keeland was born on May 22, 1867 in Georgia.  On May 10, 1888, Keeland “Dick” Olliff married Ida Bufort Puckett.  Ida was born on December 29, 1868 in Georgia and is the daughter of Mary C. Puckett.  Dick Olliff and his family moved to Ashford, Alabama and operated a store there.  Later, they farmed east of Fort Gaines, Georgia.  In 1893, they moved to Blakely, Georgia where Dick was a bookkeeper.  Dick and Ida Olliff were the parents of five children:

   Ladler Olliff, b. January 8, 1893

In 1896, after a case of the flu, Dick discovered that he had tuberculosis and Ida later contracted the disease.  Keeland “Dick” Olliff died of tuberculosis on October 9, 1899.  In 1900, Ida (Puckett) Olliff was living with her mother, Mary, in Randolph County, Georgia.  Ida (Puckett) Olliff died of tuberculosis on September 1, 1900.  Dick’s entire family suffered much hardship from disease.  Floy Olliff was the only family member to live past 1901.  Dick and Ida Olliff’s first child, died in late 1888 as a premature baby.  Ladler Olliff died of typhoid fever on August 9, 1894.  After her parent’s death, Lucille Olliff was adopted by T. B. Gambles of Balkum, Alabama.  However, Lucille Olliff died of scarlet fever on September 1, 1901.  Ida Mae Olliff died as an infant on May 22, 1899.

FLOY KEELAND OLLIFF (1.3.2.8.2) is the son of Keeland Zadock Olliff and Ida Bufort (Puckett) Olliff.  Floy was born on December 12, 1889 in Coleman, Georgia.  Floy was the only family member to live past 1901.  After her parents death, Floy lived with various relatives, visiting around in the summers.  Floy graduated from Coleman High School in 1906.  She attended G. N. I. C. in Milledgeville, Georgia through the help of the J. W. Wests and her cousin, Stephen Chester Olliff.  Floy taught at Antioch School in Clay County, Georgia from 1909 to 1912, teaching for over twenty years until 1952.  On June 12, 1912, Floy Olliff married Brooks Clarence Brown (born November 13, 1886).  Brooks and Floy Brown lived in Fort Gaines, Georgia.  Brooks and Floy Brown were the parents of three children:

   India Ida Brown, b. April 11, 1913, Fort Gaines, Georgia
   Elwin Olliff Brown, b. October 20, 1916
   Brooksie Brown, b. January 5, 1922

Brooks Brown was born, lived his entire life and died in the same house.  Brooks C. Brown died after a prolonged illness following a stroke on August 7, 1962.  Floy and her daughter, Brooksie Brown, operate a service station that Brooks started before his death.

On December 26, 1938, India Brown married Sam Boyd Wilson (born December 26, 1912) and they have four children:  -  Jack Wilson, b. October 9, 1938,  -  William Clarence Wilson, b. May 19, 1941,  -  Ann Wilson, b. April 24, 1947,  -  Betty Wilson, b. May 11, 1949.  India received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Math from Georgia Womens’ College in 1934 and a Master of Science degree in Math from the University of Georgia in 1964.  India teaches math at the Athens High School.  Jack Wilson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management at Georgia Tech in the 1960’s.  Jack is a Lieutenant in the United States Navy and was stationed in Sasebe, Japan.  On December 30, 1961, Jack Wilson married Carolyn Sue Meharg (born October 31, 1938) and they have two children:  -  Brooks Clayton Wilson, b. January 19, 1963,  -  Scott Dalton Wilson, b. September 19, 1964.  Bill Wilson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management in 1964.  Bill is a Lieutenant in the United States Army and is a helicopter pilot.  Bill was wounded in Viet Nam.  On July 29, 1961, Bill Wilson married Liddy Andrews Hawkins (born May 25, 1942) and they have two children:  -  William Clarence Wilson, Jr., b. August 11, 1964,  -  Samuel Boyd Wilson, b. February 25, 1967.  On October 28, 1966, Ann Wilson married Jerry McCauley.  On January 15, 1967, Betty Wilson married Dwight Steven Carithers.

Elwin Brown received a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from the University of Georgia in 1939.  Elwin Brown married Alma Mildred Jones (born July 1, 1917) and they had two children:  -  Thomas Mason Brown, b. November 7, 1946,  -  Leonard Holt Brown, b. September 2, 1948.  In 1962, Elwin Brown married a second time to Thelma Crumpaker Pollard (born August 14, 1927) and they have no children.  Elwin Brown served in the Strategic Air Command and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1962.  In 1967, Elwin was with North American Aviation in Anaheim, California.  Brooksie Brown graduated from Andrew College in 1943.
