Donald Matthew, Jr. served in the United States Army (Infantry) during World War II and was part of the occupation army in Germany after the war. In 1945, Donald Matthew, Jr. married Nita Kerr in Miami, Florida but they were divorced two years later having no children. Donald Matthew, Jr. died in action in Korea in 1950. He was missing in action from November 31, 1953 until December 31, 1953 when he was declared dead by the United States Gorvernment. Donald was awarded the Purple Heart posthumously.
