OLLIFF FAMILY HISTORY   9-159

ELIZABETH OLLIFF (1.4.3) is the daughter of Joseph Olliff and Rebecca (Donaldson) Olliff.  Elizabeth was born on May 2, 1824 in Georgia.  On February 18, 1844, Elizabeth “Betty” Olliff married John D. Hodges.  John was born in 1819 and is the son of Joshua Hodges, Jr. and Rebecca (Fletcher) Hodges.  John and Betty Hodges were the parents of one daughter:

   Margaret Hodges, b. 1847, Georgia

John D. Hodges died prior to November 21, 1846 when property was being sold from his estate.  On November 22, 1849, Betty (Olliff) Hodges married a second time to Allen Aspinwall.  Allen was born on September 22, 1823 in Bulloch County, Georgia and is the son of Elijah Aspinwall and Barbara (Dickson) Aspinwall.  Allen and Elizabeth Aspinwall were the parents of six children:

   Sarah V. Aspinwall (1.4.3.2), b. October 11, 1850, Georgia
   Susan Jane Aspinwall (1.4.3.3), b. February 12, 1852, Georgia
   William Henry Aspinwall (1.4.3.4), b. February 27, 1854, Georgia
   John M. Aspinwall (1.4.3.5), b. April 27, 1855, Georgia
   Matthew Lemuel Aspinwall (1.4.3.6), b. September 25, 1859, Georgia
   Mary Jane Aspinwall (1.4.3.7), b. March 10, 1863, Georgia

In 1860, Allen and Elizabeth “Walls” were living in Bulloch County, Georgia.  In 1870, Allen and Elizabeth “Aspinwall” were living in Appling County, Georgia.   Allen Aspinwall died on June 3, 1877 at Odum, Georgia and was buried there in the Aspinwall Cemetery.  In 1880, Elizabeth (Olliff) Aspinwall was living in Wayne County, Georgia.  Elizabeth (Olliff) Aspinwall died in 1898 and was buried in the Aspinwall Cemetery in Odum, Georgia.  Margaret Hodges was legally adopted by her grandfather, Joseph Olliff.

SARAH V. ASPINWALL (1.4.3.2) is the daughter of Allen Aspinwall and Elizabeth (Olliff) Aspinwall.  Sarah was born on October 11, 1850 in Georgia.  On June 15, 1872, Sarah Aspinwall married Angus M. Daniel (born March of 1846 in Georgia) and they were the parents of eight children:

   Abba N. Daniel, b. June 17, 1875, Georgia
   Harry H. Daniel, b. April 7, 1877, Georgia

From 1880 to 1900, Angus and Sarah Daniel were living in Wayne County, Georgia.  In 1910, Sarah (Aspinwall) Daniel was living with her children in Wayne County, Georgia.  In 1891, Maggie Daniel married Henry Lafayette “Fate” Clary (born January of 1865 in Georgia) and they had two children:  -  Ella M. Clary, b. March, 1892, Georgia,  -  Emmit S. “Buddie” Clary, b. June, 1894, Georgia.  From 1900 to 1910, Lafayette and Maggie Clary were living in Wayne County, Georgia.  Ella Clary married a Mr. Ahl and they have one child:  -  J. W. Ahl.  Abba Daniel married Bud Clary and they had two children:  -  Ira Clary,  -  Effie Clary.  Ira Clary married Addis Hightower.  Effie Clary married Ward Aspinwall.  Harry Daniel married Susie Dent and they had two children:  -  Hhie Daniel,  -  Douglas Daniel.  Hhie Daniel married Harry Olsen.  Hhie married a second time to Gene Campbell.  Douglas Daniel married Marwood Pierce and they had two children:  -  Bedell Daniel,  -  Mary Dent Daniel, b. SUSAN JANE ASPINWALL (1.4.3.3) is the daughter of Allen Aspinwall and Elizabeth (Olliff) Aspinwall.  Susan was born on February 12, 1852 in Georgia.  On February 20, 1871, Susan Aspinwall married Stephen A. Tillman (born 1851 in Georgia) and they were the parents of three children:

   Walter A. Tillman, b. January 21, 1875, Georgia
   Joseph A. Tillman, b. January 20, 1878, Georgia
   Loula Tillman, b. August 6, 1884, Georgia

In 1880, Stephen and Susan Tillman were living in Wayne County, Georgia.  Stephen Tillman died on March 15, 1885.  On December 27, 1887, Susan married a second time to Hays Mustine Buie and they were the parents of three children:

   Vance Buie, b. November 27, 1888, Georgia
   James A. Buie, b. April 2, 1891, Georgia
   Anna M. Buie, b. July 5, 1893, Georgia

In 1910, Hays and Susan Buie were living in Wayne County, Georgia.  In 1910, Walter A. Tillman and his wife, Fanny Tillman (born 1875 in Georgia), were living in Wayne County, Georgia.  Walter and Fanny Tillman had at least three children:  -  Willie Tillman, b. 1902, Georgia,  -  Alma Tillman, b. 1905, Georgia,  -  Joe Tillman, b. 1908, Georgia.  In 1910, Joseph A. WILLIAM HENRY ASPINWALL (1.4.3.4) is the son of Allen Aspinwall and Elizabeth (Olliff) Aspinwall.  William was born on February 27, 1854 in Georgia.  On February 12, 1874, William Aspinwall married Miriam C. Moody (born 1854 in Georgia).  William and Miriam Aspinwall were the parents of five children:

   Ada Aspinwall, b. October 18, 1874, Georgia
   Flem Aspinwall, b. June 10, 1876, Georgia
   Ellis Aspinwall, b. October 17, 1878, Georgia
   William Rond Aspinwall, b. July 27, 1880, Wayne County, Georgia

Aspinwall died on December 7, 1930.  Ada Aspinwall married Eli Herndon (born August 27, 1861).  Ada (Aspinwall) Herndon died on April 3, 1933 and Eli Herndon died on October 6, 1933.  Flem Aspinwall died young.  Ellis Aspinwall died on June 3, 1957.  William Rond Aspinwall died young.  Leroy Aspinwall died on March 8, 1960.  Lonnie Aspinwall married Minnie Bennet.  Donald A. Aspinwall married Callie Ann Victoria Boyd and they had two children:  -  Willie Mae Aspinwall,  -  Donelle Aspinwall.

John Aspinwall married Gertie Dell Waters (born September 23, 1903) and they had one son:  -  John Curry Aspinwall, Jr.  John Aspinwall, Sr. died in November of 1916 and Gertie (Waters) Aspinwall died on July 4, 1965.  Thomas Aspinwall married Belle Aldridge and they had three or four children.  James Aspinwall married Sula Madray and they had eight children:  -  Dora Ann Aspinwall,  -  Dorothy Louise Aspinwall,  -  Doris Elizabeth Aspinwall,  -  James Lawrence Aspinwall,  -  Donald Leonard Aspinwall,  -  Una Dee Aspinwall,  -  Ritch Madray Aspinwall,  -  Joseph Colvin Aspinwall.  James C. Aspinwall died on December 3, 1968.

JOHN M. ASPINWALL (1.4.3.5) is the son of Allen Aspinwall and Elizabeth (Olliff) Aspinwall.  John was born on April 27, 1855 in Georgia.  On April 5, 1878, John M. Aspinwall married Miriam Reddish and they were the parents of one daughter:

   Carrie Aspinwall, b. December 15, 1879, Georgia

Miriam (Reddish) Aspinwall died on December 25, 1879, ten days after the birth of her first child.  In 1880, John Aspinwall and his daughter, Carrie Aspinwall, were living in Wayne County, Georgia.  On November 22, 1880, John Aspinwall married a second time to Mary E. Ogden (born November of 1861 in Georgia) and they were the parents of one daughter:

   Maude Aspinwall, b. November 9, 1886, Georgia

From 1900 to 1910, John and Mary Aspinwall were living in Wayne County, Georgia.  John and Mary Aspinwall lived in Odum, Georgia.  Carrie Aspinwall married James A. Boyd.  Maude Aspinwall died in November of 1953.

MATTHEW LEMUEL ASPINWALL (1.4.3.6) is the son of Allen Aspinwall and Elizabeth (Olliff) Aspinwall.  Lem was born on September 25, 1859 in Georgia.  On January 28, 1880, Mathew Lemuel “Lem” Aspinwall married Susie Moody (born 1850 in Georgia).  In 1880, Lem and Susan Aspinwall were living with Lem’s mother, Elizabeth (Olliff) Aspinwall, in Wayne County, Georgia.  Lem and Susan Aspinwall were the parents of four children:

   Ollie Aspinwall, b. November 18, 1880, Georgia
   Moultrie D. Aspinwall, b. February 3, 1883, Georgia
   William Hilliard Aspinwall, b. July 15, 1885, Georgia
   Alma B. Aspinwall, b. June 10, 1889, Georgia

In 1910, Lem and Susan Aspinwall were living in Wayne County, Georgia.  Ollie Aspinwall married Maude Jackson (born October 29, 1885 in Georgia).  Ollie and Maude Aspinwall had three children:  -  Lemuel C. Aspinwall, b. 1908, Georgia.  In 1910, William and Irene Aspinwall were living in Wayne County, Georgia.  Mary (Davis) Aspinwall died in 1919 and Willie Aspinwall died on February 14, 1969.  Alma B. Aspinwall died as a teenager on January 1, 1905.

MARY JANE ASPINWALL (1.4.3.7) is the daughter of Allen Aspinwall and Elizabeth (Olliff) Aspinwall.  Mary was born on March 10, 1863 in Georgia.  On November 20, 1879, Mary “Molly” Jane Aspinwall married George W. Oquinn (born July of 1860 in Georgia) of Clinch County, Georgia.  George and Molly Oquinn were the parents of nine children:

   Lawton Oquinn, b. October 6, 1880, Georgia
   Ludwell “Lud” Evans Oquinn, b. August 3, 1882, Georgia
   Lawrence Oquinn, b. November 9, 1884, Georgia
   Lizzie Mae Oquinn, b. January 1, 1886, Georgia

Oquinn, b. 1909, Georgia.  In 1910, Lud and Irene Oquinn were living in Wayne County, Georgia.  Irene (Browder) Oquinn died on August 1, 1943 and Lud Oquinn died on February 23, 1950.  Lawrence Oquinn died as an infant on November 15, 1884.  On December 24, 1905, Lizzie Mae Oquinn married Walter H. Tyson (born January 7, 1881 in Georgia).  Walter and Lizzie Tyson had one son:  -  Walter C. Tyson, b. 1908, Georgia.  In 1910, Walter and Lizzie Tyson were living with Lizzie’s mother, Mary (Aspinwall) Oquinn, in Wayne County, Georgia.  Walter H. Tyson died on September 14, 1947.

On March 17, 1906, Lona Belle Oquinn married Martin L. Odum (born October 13, 1885 in Georgia).  Martin and Lona Odum had two children:  -  Hazel Odum, b. 1907, Georgia,  -  M. L. Odum, b. 1908, Georgia.  In 1910, Martin and Lona Odum were living in Wayne County, Georgia.  Martin L. Odum died on April 16, 1945 and Lona Belle (Oquinn) Odum died on January 10, 1969.  On December 2, 1922, Lester Oquinn married Lena Tillman (born July 14, 1898).  On June 19, 1910, Leotie Oquinn married Leonard Bates Odum (born January 26, 1889).  Leonard Odum died on May 18, 1917.  On August 15, 1925, Leon Oquinn married Pauline Fauss (born May 9, 1898).  Leon Oquinn died on December 12, 1949.  On January 18, 1925, Lois Oquinn married Ollin A. Spence.
