ROBERT J. BROOKS (2.4.7) is the son of Robert Brooks and Frances (Baugh) Brooks.  Robert was born in 1828 in Talbot County, Georgia.  In the 1850 census, Robert Brooks was living in Newton County, Georgia in the same household as a Mr. Garlington, a carpenter.  It is believed that Robert was probably an apprentice to this carpenter.  On October 19, 1851, Robert Brooks married Emily Judith Clark at the home of her parents.  Emily was born on May 24, 1831 in Jasper County, Georgia.  Robert and Emily Brooks resided for some time at Snapping Shoals, Newton County, Georgia and later moved to Morrisville, Calhoun County, Alabama where Robert was employed in a manufacturing establishment.  He returned with his family to Snapping Shoals, Newton County, Georgia and then moved to Griffin, Georgia.  Robert and Emily Brooks were the parents of four children:

  Miller Frances Brooks, b. December 14, 1857, Snapping Shoals, Georgia

Robert was a skilled mechanic.  In the winter of 1859 - 1860, he moved with his family to Pinelevel, Montgomery County, Alabama where he began the manufacture of sash, doors, blinds, furniture, gins and other goods.  In the 1860 census, “R. J.” and Emily Brooks were living in Montgomery County, Alabama.  Also living with them were several Teasley children, obviously related somehow to Robert’s sister, Mary Brooks who married James Teasley.  As the Civil War expanded in scope, it was soon apparent that this business would not prosper pending hostilities and he therefore wound up his business in Alabama and returned to Jasper County, Georgia in 1862.  Soon after, Robert he entered as a volunteer private in the Confederate Army and died in camp near Richmond, Virginia on July 21, 1862.

In February of 1868, Emily (Clark) Brooks married a second time to William Henry Ivy of Jasper County, Georgia where they resided about three years.  They then moved to Newton County, Georgia, near Covington and later resided in Covington.  William Ivy was engaged in the drug business in co-partnership with his step-son, Courtney Brooks.  William and Emily Ivy had two children:  Hattie Ivy (born March 8, 1868 and died November 10, 1868) and Lilla Parks Ivy (born December 30, 1869) who later married George T. Smith.  William Henry Ivy died on May 21, 1894 in Covington, Georgia and Emily (Clark) Ivy died on May 13, 1899.  Oscar Brooks died as an infant on October 10, 1853.

On January 3, 1896, Miller Brooks married Josephine Eleanor Atkinson.  “Josie” was born on October 3, 1875 in Georgia and is the daughter of Everet Gill Atkinson and Laura W. Carol Atkinson of Madison, Georgia.  In 1900, Miller and Josie Brooks were living in Madison, Georgia.  Miller and Josie Brooks had no children.  Miller Brooks served as mayor of Madison, Georgia for more than one term.  Miller and Josie Brooks resided at Madison, Georgia where Miller was engaged in the drug business.  Miller Brooks died in 1935 in Madison, Georgia and was buried in the Madison City Cemetery.  Josephine (Atkinson) Brooks died on April 29, 1951 in Athens, Georgia and was buried in the Madison City Cemetery.

COURTNEY CLARK BROOKS (2.4.7.2) is the son of Robert J. Brooks and Emily Judith (Clark) Brooks.  Courtney was born on May 21, 1854 in Georgia.  On September 3, 1880, Courtney Brooks married Sarah Jean Cook.  Sallie was born on September 8, 1858 in Georgia and is the daughter of Robert Cook and Laviasia (Laudrum) Cook.  Courtney and Sarah Brooks had no children.  In 1900, Courtney and Sallie Brooks were living in Covington, Newton County, Georgia.  Courtney Brooks was in the drug trade, in which he was engaged at several places, for the most part at Covington, Georgia.  Sallie (Cook) Brooks died on August 23, 1913 and was buried in the Covington Cemetery.  On September 8, 1918, Courtney Brooks married a second time to Diva Lou (Dewberry) Braswell at Covington, Newton County, Georgia.  Diva was a widow and had two children by her previous marriage:  Marvin Timothy “Tim” Braswell and Louie “Render” Braswell.  Courtney and Diva Brooks were the parents of one son:

Courtney Brooks, Sr. died at his home in Covington, Georgia in February of 1935 and was buried in the Covington Cemetery.

COURTNEY CLARK BROOKS, II (2.4.7.2.1) is the son of Courtney Clark Brooks and Diva Lou (Dewberry) Brooks.  Courtney was born on June 18, 1919 in Covington, Georgia.  On August 7, 1943, Courtney Brooks married Teressa Latrelle Otwell.  Courtney and Teressa Brooks are the parents of one daughter:

  Cherrie Teressa Brooks, b. November 14, 1945

Courtney and Teressa Brooks were divorced on December 16, 1953.  On March 15, 1954, Courtney Brooks, Jr. married a second time to Nina Hartness.  Courtney and Nina Brooks are the parents of two sons:

  Michael Durant Brooks, b. November 3, 1959

Courtney and Nina Brooks were divorced on December 8, 1960.  On August 26, 1961, Courtney Brooks, II married a third time to Elizabeth Davis (Stone) Pierson.  Elizabeth was a widow with two children:  Elizabeth Louise Pierson,  Margaret May Pierson.  Courtney Brooks, II graduated from Emory University Medical School in 1943.  Courtney and Elizabeth Brooks live in Atlanta, Georgia.  Cherrie Brooks graduated from the University of Missouri.  Cherrie is a school teacher and lives in San Diego, California.

Courtney Brooks, III was born at his father’s hospital, Brooks Hospital in Blue Ridge, Georgia.  Courtney Brooks, III received a Bachelor of Science degree from Washington and Lee University and a Doctorate of Medicine degree from the University of Georgia Medical School.  Courtney is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and practices internal medicine at Lawrenceville, Georgia.  On May 2, 1988, Courtney Brooks, III married Linda Diane “Cissy” Kelley in Blairsville, Georgia.  Cissy was born on October 22, 1958 in Augusta, Georgia and is the daughter of James Albert Kelley, Jr. and Margaret Louise (Sikes) Kelley.  Courtney and Cissy Brooks live in Sewanee, Georgia.  Michael Brooks graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts and lives in San Francisco, California.

FANNIE LEE BROOKS (2.4.7.4) is the daughter of Robert J. Brooks and Emily Judith (Clark) Brooks.  Fannie was born on July 21, 1861 in Pinelevel, Montgomery County, Alabama.  On March 6, 1884, Fannie Lee Brooks married William Belle Rayford Pennington, Jr.  W. B. R. was the son of William Belle Rayford Pennington and Nancy J. (Maddox) Pennington.  W. B. R. Pennington was in the merchandising business at Pennington, Georgia where they resided.  W. B. R. and Fannie Pennington were the parents of seven children:

Fannie (Brooks) Pennington died on August 2, 1903 in Morgan County, Georgia and was buried there in the Pennington Family Cemetery.  W. B. R. Pennington married a second time to Annie Gay Starr and they had six children:  -  Rayford Bell Pennington (born January 4, 1905), Ralph Wiggins Pennington (born September, 1908), James Franklin Pennington (born September, 1910 and died 1914), Katherine Ann Pennington (born September 20, 1912), Rebecca Gay Pennington (born August 7, 1914) and Margaret Nell Pennington (born December 11, 1916).  W. B. R. Pennington, Jr. died on December 14, 1941 and was buried in the Pennington Family Cemetery in Morgan County, Georgia.

Lillie Bell Pennington was graduate of LaGrange College and worked for many years for the Internal Revenue Service.  Lillie Pennington died at Atlanta, Georgia on April 27, 1973.  On October 19, 1927, William Courtney “Coty” Pennington married Ruth G. Weir in Ashville, Tennessee.  Ruth was born on September 24, 1901 and is the daughter Henry Mack Weir and Ida Jane (Nowell) Weir.  Coty attended Emory College at Oxford, Georgia and spent his entire career in the Post Office Department.  Coty Pennington died on August 18, 1986 in Decatur, Georgia and was buried there in the Decatur Cemetery.  Lorie P. Pennington died very young on October 4, 1894.  Frances L. Pennington died very young on June 2, 1897.

BERTIE JEAN PENNINGTON (2.4.7.4.1) is the daughter of William Belle Rayford Pennington, Jr. and Fannie Lee (Brooks) Pennington.  Bertie was born on January 12, 1885 in Morgan County, Georgia.  On December 5, 1906, Bertie Pennington married Sherrod Ransome Campbell.  Sherrod was born on April 7, 1872 in Jasper County, Georgia and is the son of Richard Sims Campbell and Missouri Elinora (Benton) Campbell.  Bertie was a graduate of LaGrange College and all of her children that lived to adulthood are college graduates.  Sherrod was a farmer.  Sherrod and Bertie Campbell lived at Mansfield, Newton County, Georgia.  Sherrod and Bertie Campbell were the parents of eight children:

Sherrod Campbell died on December 17, 1960 in Atlanta, Georgia and Bertie (Pennington) Campbell died on August 20, 1963 in Atlanta, Georgia.  Both were buried in the Westview Cemetery in Monticello, Jasper County, Georgia.  On July 7, 1936, Frances Campbell married Robert Doyle Tatum at Mansfield, Newton County, Georgia.  Doyle was born on October 7, 1906 in Hall County, Georgia and is the son of Levi Elisha Tatum and Margaret Elizabeth (Barnwell) Tatum.  Frances is a college graduate and retired teacher.  Doyle and Frances Tatum live in Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia.  Frances is an active genealogist and greatly assisted in the accumulation of information on the descendants of Fannie (Brooks) Pennington.

On April 17, 1966, Ann Campbell married Robert Hall Hulett in College Park, Georgia.  Robert was born on January 4, 1919 in Hollis, Queens, New York and is the son of Clarence Hall Hulett and Gertrude (Wardell) Hulett.  Robert and Ann Hulett lived on Long Island, New York and now live in Ashville, North Carolina.  Carol Campbell died very young on October 10, 1928.

(2.4.7.4.1.3) is the son of Sherrod Ransome Campbell and Bertie Jean (Pennington) Campbell.  Sherrod was born on May 11, 1911 in Newton County, Georgia.  On December 23, 1933, Sherrod Campbell, Jr. married Dorothy Mae Benton in Alabama.  Dorothy was born on October 11, 1916 and is the daughter of Grady Benton and Lillian (Faulkner) Benton.  Sherrod and Dorothy Campbell were the parents of four children:

On December 21, 1958, Carole Campbell married John Charles Bracy at Covington, Newton County, Georgia.  John was born on November 7, 1932 in Chicago Heights, Illinois and is the son of Frederick Lucian Bracy and Forrest (Sizemore) Bracy.  John and Carole Bracy have five children:  -  Catherine Elizabeth Bracy, b. On May 19, 1980, Grady Campbell married Eileen Claire Hubbard in New York City, New York.  Eileen is the daughter of Dr. Robert Hubbard.  Grady is a medical doctor, specializing in internal medicine and pulmonary disease.  Grady and Eileen Campbell have three children:  -  Grady Benton Campbell, Jr., b. RUTH COURTNEY CAMPBELL (2.4.7.4.1.4) is the daughter of Sherrod Ransome Campbell and Bertie Jean (Pennington) Campbell.  Ruth was born on February 12, 1914 in Newton County, Georgia.  On February 21, 1939, Ruth Campbell married Robert Earl Brinson, II in Mansfield, Georgia.  Robert was born on March 13, 1915 in Johnson County, Georgia and is the son of Robert Earl Brinson and Sarah (Lovett) Brinson.  Robert and Ruth Brinson were the parents of two children:

On August 28, 1966, Ruth Brinson married Jesse Drake Hester in Wrightsville, Georgia.  Jesse was born on March 13, 1945 in Decatur County, Georgia and is the son of Edwin C. Hester and Myrtice Virginia (Drake) Hester.  Jesse is a physician, specializing obstetrics and gynecology.  Jesse and Ruth Hester have two children:  -  Laura Pennington Hester, b. RACHEL LOUISE CAMPBELL (2.4.7.4.1.5) is the daughter of Sherrod Ransome Campbell and Bertie Jean (Pennington) Campbell.  Rachel was born on September 17, 1918 in Newton County, Georgia.  On August 8, 1939, Rachel Campbell married Benjamin Wright Gibson, Jr. in Mansfield, Georgia.  Benjamin was born on June 20, 1911 in Atlanta, Georgia and is the son of Benjamin Wright Gibson and Ludie Olivia (Lindley) Gibson.  Benjamin and Rachel Gibson were the parents of four children:

On June 10, 1972, Benjamin Gibson, III married Victoria Juozaitis in Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada.  Victoria is the daughter of Joseph Juozaitis and Veronica (Franchuck) Juazaitis.  Benjamin and Victoria Gibson have three children:  -  Benjamin Joseph Gibson, b. November, 1975,  -  Matthew Sherrod Gibson, b. November 1, 1978,  -  Rachel Alexis Gibson, b. August 5, 1980.  Benjamin Gibson, III is a dentist and Victoria is a nurse.  Benjamin and Victoria Gibson live in Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada.

On August 31, 1974, Jean Gibson married Paul Patrick Rhyne in Sewanee, Tennessee.  Paul is the son of Dwight C. Rhyne and Henrietta (Florentin) Rhyne.  Paul and Jean Rhyne have two children:  -  Patrick Gibson Rhyne, b. July 17, 1981,  -  Emily Layre Gibson Rhyne, b. April 13, 1988.  Paul Rhyne is a family counselor and financial planner.  Paul and Jean Rhyne live in Raleigh, North Carolina.

On September 4, 1982, Margaret Gibson married Steven Francis Haughey in Sewanee, Tennessee.  Steven was born on October 16, 1950 in Queens, New York and is the son of Francis Haughey and Isabel (Kane) Haughey.  Steven and Margaret Haughey have two children:  -  Courtney Jean Haughey, b. May 18, 1983,  -  Stephanie Ann Haughey, b. February 2, 1989.  Margaret (Gibson) Haughey is a personnel director.  Steven and Margaret Haughey lived in Pembroke, New Hampshire for six years and now live in Cary, North Carolina.

MARY EMILY CAMPBELL (2.4.7.4.1.6) is the daughter of Sherrod Ransome Campbell and Bertie Jean (Pennington) Campbell.  Mary was born on July 8, 1920 in Mansfield, Ohio.  Mary Campbell married Dr. Charles Gailey Brown, Jr.  Charles was born on February 12, 1911 in Mansfield, Ohio and is the son of Dr. Charles Gailey Brown, Sr. and Essie (Meister) Brown.  Charles and Mary Brown are the parents of three children:

Charles Brown, Jr. is a graduate of Denison University and Ohio State Medical School.  Dr. Charles Brown, Jr. practice family medicine in Mansfield, Ohio for fifty years and retired in 1989.  Mary (Campbell) Brown is a graduate of Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia and is a retired school teacher.  Charles and Mary Brown live in Mansfield, Ohio.  Robert Brown is a graduate of Princeton University and received a Juris Doctorate degree from Harvard Law School.  Robert later received a Master of Laws degree from Georgetown University.  He is an investment banker with Shearson, Lehman, Hutton in New York City and lives in Brooklyn, New York.  Charles Brown, III married Alice Sue Hypes (born in West Virginia) and they have one daughter:  -  Tara Jeanne Campbell Brown, b. October 30, 1983.  Charles and Alice were later divorced.  Charles is a graduate of Denison University and Yale Law School.  Charles Brown is the Attorney General of the State of West Virginia and lives in Charleston, West Virginia.

Sherrod Brown married Larke Ummel and they have two children:  -  Emily Montgomery Brown, b. March 30, 1981,  -  Elizabeth Clarke Brown, b. December 30, 1983.  Sherrod and Larke Brown were later divorced.  Sherrod Brown is a graduate of Yale University and also has two Masters degrees from Ohio Stte University.  Sherrod Brown is the Secretary of State for the State of Ohio and lives in Columbus, Ohio.

EMMIE NANCY PENNINGTON (2.4.7.4.4) is the daughter of William Belle Rayford Pennington, Jr. and Fannie Lee (Brooks) Pennington.  Emmie was born on July 9, 1891 in Pennington, Georgia.  On August 2, 1916, Emmie Pennington married Calvin Edward Furlow at Covington, Georgia.  Calvin was born on February 18, 1892 at Jackson, Butts County, Georgia and is the son of Timothy Matthew Furlow and Susie (Etheridge) Furlow.  Calvin and Emmie Furlow had two children:

  Susie “Elizabeth” Furlow (2.4.7.4.4.1), b. April 15, 1918, Cleveland, Ohio
  Edward Pennington Furlow (2.4.7.4.4.2), b. June 4, 1924, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio

Calvin and Emmie Furlow were divorced in 1945.  Emmie was a teacher before she married and in the early years of her marriage.  With the onset of World War II, she was employed by the Bureau of The Census and after retirement there, she worked with the Washington Hearing Society.  Emmie lived in North Carolina, Cleveland, Ohio, Atlanta, Georgia and Washington, D. C.  Emmie (Pennington) Furlow died on November 8, 1963 in Washington, D. C. and was buried at the Methodist Church Cemetery in the Pennington Community, Morgan County, Georgia.  Calvin Furlow died on May 11, 1976 at Tucker, Fulton County, Georgia and was buried at the Jackson Cemetery in Jackson, Butts County, Georgia.

SUSIE “ELIZABETH” FURLOW (2.4.7.4.4.1) is the daughter of Calvin Edward Furlow and Emmie Nancy (Pennington) Furlow.  Elizabeth was born on April 15, 1918 in Cleveland, Ohio.  On July 31, 1939, Susie Furlow married Robert W. Brown in Washington, District of Columbia.  Robert was born on September 11, 1913 in Atlanta, Georgia and is the son of Ernest Eugene Brown and Sarah (Ponder) Brown.  Robert and Elizabeth Brown are the parents of three children:

Robert and Elizabeth Brown lived in Lakewood, Ohio, then for a short time in Newton County, Georgia and then in Atlanta, Georgia.  Elizabeth graduated from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia in 1939 with majors of History and English.  After several years of teaching, Elizabeth received a Master of Education degree and in 1972, she received a Specialist in Education degree.  Elizabeth is now retired.  Robert and Elizabeth Brown live in Tucker, Georgia.

On June 13, 1965, Stephen Brown married Brenda Armstrong in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Brenda was born on March 23, 1942 in North Carolina and is the daughter of Cleaton Armstrong and Martha Armstrong.  Stephen and Brenda Brown have two children:  -  Roger Andrew Brown, b. February 21, 1967,  -  Cason Matthew Brown, b. August 21, 1972.  Stephen and Brenda Brown were divorced in 1980.  In October of 1980, Stephen Brown married a second time to Karen Dyer Page (born May 30, 1951, Tennessee).  In 1966, Stephen Brown graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology.  During college, he also served in the United States Army, 101st Airborne Division and was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.  Stephen Brown purchased Rusco Window Company in Knoxville, Tennessee which manufactures windows, doors, patio covers and other housing components.  Stephen and Karen Brown live in Powell, Tennessee.  Nancy Brown graduated from Emory University in 1966 and is employed by the State of Georgia, Department of Human Resources, as a supervisor in the Disability Unit of the Decatur office.  Nancy Brown lives in Decatur, Georgia.

On July 21, 1973, Patricia Brown married John F. Cureton.  John was born on October 28, 1945 in Coweta County, Georgia and is the son of Fred Cureton and Kathleen Cureton.  John and Patricia Cureton have one son:  -  David Phillip Cureton, b. February 18, 1978.  John and Patricia Cureton were divorced in August of 1988.  Patricia graduated from Agnes Scott College in 1970 and received a Masters degree in Education from Georgia State University in 1976.  Patricia is employed by the State of Georgia, Department of Education, as a school psychologist in Coweta County, Georgia.  Patricia and her son live in Tucker, Georgia.

EDWARD PENNINGTON FURLOW (2.4.7.4.4.2) is the son of Calvin Edward Furlow and Emmie Nancy (Pennington) Furlow.  Edward was born on June 4, 1924 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  On September 8, 1946, Edward Pennington married Marjorie Marcene Graves in West Lafayette, Indiana.  Marjorie was born on April 7, 1926 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and is the daughter of Harold Monroe Graves and Gertrude Frances (Breading) Graves.  Edward and Marjorie Pennington were the parents of three children:

Marjorie (Graves) Furlow died on May 31, 1970 in Bethesda, Maryland and is buried in the Culpeper National Cemetery in Culpeper County, Virginia.  On November 22, 1971, Edward Furlow married a second time to Margaret Ellen Diehl in Arlington, Virginia.  Edward and Margaret Furlow were divorced on June 11, 1980.  Edward Furlow married a third time to Anne English Stewart in Arlington, Virginia.  Anne was born on September 9, 1934 in Bryan, Texas and is the daughter of Ralph Thomas Stewart and Ernestine (Showalter) Stewart.  Anne (Stewart) Furlow died on September 13, 1984 in Arlington, Virginia and was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Roanoke, Virginia.  On June 14, 1986, Edward Furlow married a fourth time to Birgit Anderson Buck in Arlington, Virginia.  Birgit was born on May 30, 1932 in Copenhagen, Denmark and is the daughter of Niels Peter Anderson and Dorthea Hansine (Larson) Anderson.  Edward Pennington has lived in Ohio, Georgia, District of Columbia, Virginia and Gold Coast (former British colony in west Africa).  Edward and Birgit Pennington live in Arlington, Virginia.

On October 16, 1977, Edward Pennington, Jr. married Juliana Josefina Ferro-Cheyne in Arlington, Virginia.  Juliana was born on February 14, 1952 in Bogota, Columbia and is the daughter of Manvel Ferro and Julia (Cheyne) Ferro.  Edward and Juliana Pennington have two children:  -  Manuela Liliana Furlow, b. October 12, 1978,  -  Edward Pennington Furlow, III, b. June 30, 1980.  Edward Furlow, Jr. is a librarian in the Fairfax County Library System and lives in Springfield, Virginia.

On May 4, 1985, Harold Furlow married Heidi Elizabeth Schaefer in Great River, Long Island, New York.  Heidi was born on May 8, 1957 in Bayshore, Long Island, New York and is the daughter of Edward Irving Schaefer and Rosemarie Galbraith (Evans) Schaefer.  Harold and Heidi Furlow have two children:  -  Heather Galbraith Furlow, b. July 17, 1986,  -  Anna Graves Furlow, b. November 2, 1987.  Harold and Heidi Furlow have lived in Virginia, Florida and California.  They currently live in Alexandria, Virginia.  Harold Furlow is an electronics engineer with the United States Navy Department.

On May 24, 1986, Calvin Furlow married Maria Dennys Meruvia in Falls Church, Virginia.  Maria was born on September 1, 1964 in Cochabamba, Bolivia and is the daughter of Placido Meruvia and Josefina (Ortiz) Meruvia.  Calvin and Maria Furlow have one child:  -  Adrienne Dennys Furlow, b. March 7, 1987.  Calvin Furlow is a technical information specialist with the Environmental Protection Agency.  Calvin and Maria Furlow live in Woodbridge, Virginia.

BROOKS MADDOX PENNINGTON (2.4.7.4.7) is the son of William Belle Rayford Pennington, Jr. and Fannie Lee (Brooks) Pennington.  Brooks was born on March 4, 1899, Pennington, Georgia.  Brooks Pennington attended Gordon Military College and Emory College at Oxford, Georgia.  On August 28, 1924, Brooks Pennington married Lucile Braswell at Anderson, South Carolina.  Lucile was born on December 26, 1903 at Loganville, Georgia.  Brooks and Lucile Pennington were the parents of two children:

Brooks M. Pennington was the chairman of the board of Pennington Grain and Seed Company, a large and respected company in the nursery industry.  Brooks was very active in the Methodist Church and served on the Board of Stewards and Sunday School superintendent for over twenty-five years.  Brooks Pennington died on January 16, 1966 at Madison, Morgan County, Georgia and was buried there at the Pennington Cemetery.

On June 5, 1931, Brooks Pennington, Jr. married Jacqueline Christian in Newton County, Georgia.  Brooks and Jacqueline Pennington have four children:  -  Brooks Maddox Pennington, III, b. November 25, 1954, Madison, Georgia,  -  Penny Almond Pennington, b. June 27, 1956, Covington, Georgia,  -  Robert Braswell Pennington, b. On December 20, 1946, Nancy Pennington married Robert Usher Thomason.  Robert was born on December 19, 1921 and is the son of Oscar Thomason and Annette (Marchman) Thomason.  Robert and Nancy Thomason had three children:  -  Robert Usher Thomason, III, b. October 14, 1951, Madison, Georgia,  -  Oscar Rollin Thomason, b. October 16, 1955, Covington, Georgia,  -  John Newman Thomason, b. September 16, 1960, Madison, Georgia.  Nancy (Pennington) Thomason died on March 3, 1976 and was buried in Madison, Georgia.  On April 21, 1979, Robert Thomason, III married Martha Grey Fitzgerald.  Robert and Martha Thomason have two children:  -  Katherine Grey Thomason, b. November 12, 1982,  -  Robert Usher Thomason, IV, b. August 5, 1987.  On August 15, 1987, John Thomason married Angela Carole Kirk.
