PLEASANT CASEY (8.2.3) is the son of Abner Casey and Elizabeth (Bowen) Casey.  Pleasant was born on December 12, 1810 in Tennessee.  Pleasant Casey married Lucy Webb (born 1811 in Tennessee).  Pleasant and Lucy Casey were the parents of nine children:

From 1840 to 1850, Pleasant and Lucy Casey were living in Bradley County, Tennessee.  In 1860 and 1870, Pleasant Casey was living in Titus County, Texas.  Pleasant Casey died in 1877 and was buried in Franklin County, Texas.  Lucy (Webb) Casey died in 1877 and was buried in Franklin County, Texas.  Emaline Casey married Hiram Fitzgerald.  Elizabeth Casey married John Carson and they had four children:  -  Robert Lee Carson,  -  Thomas Albert Carson,  -  Nannie Elizabeth Carson,  -  John Columbus Carson.  John Casey never married.  William Casey married Martha Combs.

ELLSBERRY B. CASEY (8.2.3.2) is the son of Pleasant Casey and Lucy (Webb) Casey.  Ellsberry was born on October 15, 1837 in Bradley County, Tennessee.  On November 1, 1860, Ellsberry Casey married Emaline Newman in Mount Pleasant, Texas.  Emaline was born on January 26, 1831 in Jefferson County, Tennessee and is the daughter of Jonathan Newman.  Ellsberry and Emaline Casey were the parents of seven children:

On June 11, 1863, Ellsberry Casey enlisted as private in the Union Army in Indianopolis, Indiana and served in Comany D, Sixth Regiment of the Seventy-first Indiana Volunteer Cavalry.  He served in Kentucky and Tennessee in late 1863 and early 1864 under General Burnsides at one time.  In the Spring of 1864, he served under General Sherman in Georgia.  Under General Staneman, he was taken prisoner on a raid against Macon, Georgia on August 5, 1864.  He was kept prisoner in Andersonville, Georgia, Florenc, South Carolina and then Richmond, Virginia.  He was then paroled and sent Annapolis, then a Baltimore, Maryland Hospital and then to Indianopolis.  He was discharged on June 12, 1865.  In 1870, Ellsberry and Emaline Casey were living in Scott County, Arkansas.  In 1880, Ellsberry and Emaline Casey were living in Logan County, Arkansas.  In 1888, Ellsberry Casey was elected Justice of the Peace in Logan County, Arkansas.  Ellsberry Casey died on June 18, 1899 and was buried in the Mansfield Cemetery in Arkansas.  In 1900, Emaline (Newman) Casey was living in Scott County, Arkansas.  Emaline (Newman) Casey died in August of 1939 in Abbott, Arkansas and was buried in the Mansfield Cemetery in Arkansas.

On October 10, 1883, Mary Casey married William C. Ellington in Logan County, Arkansas.  William was born on March 31, 1861 in Arkansas and is the son of Thomas Nathan Ellington and Martha Charlotte Ellington.  William and Mary Ellington had five children:  -  Thomas Elza Ellington, b. September 24, 1884, Arkansas,  -  William Leroy Lee Ellington, b. January 17, 1890, Arkansas,  -  Minyard Ellington, b. 1892, Arkansas,  -  Laura Ellington, b. 1895, Arkansas,  -  Etta Ellington, b. Ellington died on January 3, 1927 and was buried in the Ellington Cemetery in Logan County, Arkansas.  Nora Casey married Walter Jones.  Nora (Casey) Jones died in 1966 and was buried in Abbott, Arkansas.  Flora Casey married Oscar L. Jones.  Dora (Casey) Jones died in 1964.

JONATHAN LEROY CASEY (8.2.3.2.3) is the son of Ellsberry B. Casey and Emaline (Newman) Casey.  Jonathan was born on September 11, 1869 in Arkansas.  On December 23, 1900, Jonathan Casey married Myrtle Benton Looper in Scott County, Arkansas.  Myrtle was born on December 10, 1879 in Abbott, Arkansas.  Jonathan and Myrtle Casey were the parents of five children:

Shackelford in Abbott, Arkansas.  Irma Casey married Robert W. Adair.

PLEASANT LaFAYETTE CASEY (8.2.3.2.4) is the son of Ellsberry B. Casey and Emaline (Newman) Casey.  Pleasant was born on September 8, 1871 in Mount Pleasant, Texas.  On May 9, 1893, Pleasant Casey married Florence Rosalee Dugan in Silver Hills, Arkansas.  Florence was born on September 14, 1875 in Silver Hill, Arkansas and is the daughter of Michael Dugan and Mary Elizabeth (Rawls) Dugan.  Pleasant and Florence Casey were the parents of ten children:

Hodge in Stigler, Oklahoma.  LaNora (Casey) Hodge died on March 23, 1990 in Norman, Oklahoma and was buried in the Fields Cemetery in Porum, Oklahoma.  On October 12, 1927, Dewey Casey married Ollie Margarette Robinson in Warner, Oklahoma.  Ollie was born on July 8, 1905 in Lamar, Arkansas and is the daughter of Charles Robinson and Lesolla Bell (Haulmark) Robinson.  Dewey and Ollie Casey had at least one daughter:  -  Louis Casey, b. September 18, 1928, Warner, Oklahoma.  Dewey Casey died on March 8, 1974 in Porum, Oklahoma and Ollie (Robinson) Casey died on October 17, 1985 in Warner, Oklahoma.

In 1920, Ruby Casey married Rastia Cruce Lansford in Muscogee, Oklahoma.  Rastia was born on December 6, 1899 in the Indian Territory and is the son of Mack Bryan Lansford and Nannie C. (Kerr) Lansford.  Rastia and Ruby Lansford had at least one daughter:  -  Betty Jo Lansford, b. January 11, 1922, Warner, Oklahoma.  Ruby married a second time to Isom Lewis.  LaRetha Casey married Mickey Rainwater.  LaRetha (Casey) Rainwater died in January of 1954 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.  In 1927, Jewell Casey married Charlie Floyd.  Jewell married a second time to Lee Bishop.  Glen Casey married Scottie Collins.  Theo Casey married William Joe Ray in Muscogee, Oklahoma.  On June 4, 1937, Ferrell Casey married Charles Karr in Vinita, Oklahoma.  Kathleen Casey died as an infant on January 1, 1918 in Porum, Oklahoma and was buried in the Coleman Cemetery near Porum, Oklahoma.

Casey (b. 1871, Texas), were living in Franklin County, Arkansas.  Robert and Lollie Casey were the parents of four children:

John E. ABNER ELLSBERRY CASEY (8.2.8) is the son of Abner Casey and Elizabeth (Bowen) Casey.  Abner was born in 1820 in Roane County, Tennessee.  Abner Casey married Phoebe Jane Whiteley.  Phoebe was born in November, 1827 in Arkansas and is the daughter of Samuel Whiteley (born 1797, Virginia) and Lucy (Maynard) Whiteley (born 1798 in North Carolina).  From 1850 to 1860, Abner and Phoebe Casey were living in Newton County, Arkansas.  Abner and Phoebe Casey were the parents of seven children:

Abner E. Casey was killed on October 12, 1862 during the Civil War by renegades.  In 1870, Jane (Whiteley) Casey was living with her children in Newton County, Arkansas.  In 1880, Phoebe (Whiteley) Casey was living with her son, John Casey, in Newton County, Arkansas.  In 1900 and 1920, Phoebe (Whiteley) Casey was living with her son, Alex Casey, in Newton County, Arkansas.  Phoebe (Whiteley) Casey died on May 5, 1925 and was buried in the Boxley Cemetery.

Isaac Casey had two sons:  -  Hiram Elsberry Casey,  -  Fred Casey (killed at the age of sixteen years).  Hiram Casey was killed on May 18, 1864 near Dandanelle, Arkansas.  Isaac was killed in the line of duty serving the Confederate Army during the Civil War.  A. J. Casey and his wife, Mary E. Casey (born 1855), had three children:  -  William M. Casey, b. 1874, Arkansas,  -  Susan M. Casey, b. 1875,  -  Sarah Casey, b. 1880, Arkansas.  Susan M. Casey died in 1922.  In 1851, Susan E. Casey married William B. CASEY (8.2.8.2) is the son of Abner Ellsberry Casey and Phoebe Jane (Whiteley) Casey.  John was born on October 28, 1850 in Newton County, Arkansas.  On May 29, 1870, John Casey married Susan F. Sparks (born January, 1845, Tennessee).  From 1870 to 1900, John and Susan Casey were living in Newton County, Arkansas.  John and Susan Casey were the parents of five children:

Casey died on March 27, 1934 and was buried in the Boxley Cemetery.  Mary Casey never married.  James A. Casey was a Warden at the Arkansas Penitentiary and was living in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1955.  Ora Casey never married.

JOEL WALTER CASEY (8.2.8.2.5) is the son of John P. Casey and Susan (Sparks) Casey.  Walter was born in September, 1884 in Newton County, Arkansas.  Walter Casey married Florence Biddie Carlton.  Florence was born in 1887 in Arkansas and is the daughter of Eliza Carlton.  Walter and Florence Casey were the parents of four children:

  Thelma Casey, b. 1906, Arkansas
  Fannie Casey, b. 1908, Arkansas
  Virginia Casey, b. 1912, Arkansas
  Susie Casey, b. 1915, Arkansas

In 1920, Walter and Florence Casey were living in Boone County, Arkansas.  In 1920, Walters father, John P. Casey, was living with them.  While serving as Deputy Sheriff of Boone County, Arkansas, Walter was shot to death by Eula Sullivan.  Sullivan was convicted of first degree murder but escaped before the date set for execution.  Soon after, Sullivan was shot and killed while resisting arrest.

ARCHIBALD YELL CASEY (8.2.8.4) is the son of Abner Ellsberry Casey and Phoebe Jane (Whiteley) Casey.  Archibald was born on March 18, 1852 in Newton County, Arkansas.  On September 23, 1876, Archibald Casey married Cynthia Ciotha Moore in Newton County, Arkansas.  Cynthia was born on February 17, 1858 in Chinese Camp, California and is the daughter of William Summers Moore and Permelia Caroline (Smith) Moore.  In 1880, Archibald and Cynthia Casey were living in Newton County, Arkansas.  In 1900, Archibald and Cynthia Casey were living in Indian Nation (later Oklahoma).  Archibald and Cynthia Casey were the parents of seven children:

Cynthia Alford, b. 1901,  -  Juanita Alford, b. 1902,  -  Fred Alford, b. 1904,  -  Bulah Alford, b. 1906,  -  Ben Alford, b. 1908.  On April 4, 1905, Minnie Casey married Thomas Wilson Greenwood.  Around 1951, Minnie married a second time to Wade Cotton.  Minnie (Casey) Cotton died on January 17, 1962.  John Casey married Martha Kuhlman.  John Casey died in 1976.  Iva Casey married Lorah Klutts.  Iva (Casey) Klutts died on July 6, 1980.  On June 24, 1922, Beulah Casey married Henry A. Mobert.  Beulah (Casey) Mobert died on November 1, 1949.

Alex Casey was elected as Assessor for Newton County, Arkansas from 1880 to 1882.  In 1891, Alex was elected to the Arkansas State Senate and was elected again in 1893.  From 1910 to 1920, Alexander and Miranda Casey were living in Newton County, Arkansas.  In 1920, Alexs mother, Phoebe (Whiteley) Casey, was living with them.  Alex Casey died in 1944.  Alex Casey and Miranda (Brooks) Casey were buried in the Boxley Cemetery in Newton County, Arkansas.  Burt Casey graduated from the University of Arkansas and taught at the Agricultural College in Russelville, Arkansas.  Burt Casey never married.  Burt Casey died on March 23, 1967 and was buried in the Boxley Cemetery.  John Casey graduated from University of Arkansas.  John Casey married and had two children:  -  John E. Casey, Jr.,  -  Nellie Casey.  John E. Casey died on February 9, 1951.  Charles B. Casey was postmaster at Jasper, Arkansas for many years.  Charles Casey married Viola Spears (born 1893 in Arkansas) and they had two children:  -  Jack Raymond Casey, b. 1916, Arkansas (died young),  -  Charles B. Casey, Jr.  In 1920, Charles and Viola Casey were living in Benton County, Arkansas.  Charles B. Casey, Sr. died in January, 1956.  Charles B. Casey, Jr. was appointed postmaster for Jasper, Arkansas.  Flora Casey married Claude Sisco.  Flora (Casey) Sisco died on November 17, 1967.

Ellsberry Casey married Myrtle Villines (born 1895, Arkansas) and they had three daughters:  -  Erma Jean Casey,  -  Virginia Casey, b. October 5, 1921,  -  Berry Ruth Casey, b. July 7, 1928.  In 1920, Ellsberry and Myrtle Casey were living in Newton County, Arkansas.  Ellsberry Casey died on August 11, 1928 and was buried in the Boxley Cemetery in Newton County, Arkansas.  Myrtle (Villines) Casey married a second time to Roy Kirkpatrick and lived in Green Forest, Arkansas.  Erma Jean Casey married William E. Brady and they have two children:  -  Gene Brady, b. 1941,  -  Marilyn Brady, b. 1943.  Virginia Casey married Larry Weadmark and they have two children:  -  Jane Ann Weadmark, b. 1943,  -  Jimmie Weadmark, b. 1945.  Berry Ruth Casey married Buddy Griever and they have three children:  -  Charles L. Lizzie Casey died as a child on June 22, 1895.  Nellie Casey was killed in an automobile accident on March 27, 1921 while returning from Conway, Arkansas where she was attending college.  Nellie Casey was buried in the Boxley Cemetery in Newton County, Arkansas.  On October 15, 1924, Sam D. Casey married Lavina C. Pless (born November 1, 1901) and they have one daughter:  -  Flora Lee Casey, b. August 18, 1925, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.  Sam D. Casey died on June 2, 1974 and Lavina (Pless) Casey died on December 9, 1979.  Alexander F. Casey was also killed in the same accident with her sister, Nellie Casey, he was also attending college in Russelville, Arkansas at the time.  Alexander F. Casey was also buried in the Boxley Cemetery in Newton County, Arkansas.  Flora Lee (Casey) Thompson is a granddaughter of William Franklin Casey and is an active Casey researcher.

MARSHALL LAFAYETTE CASEY (8.2.9.3) is the son of Jessie Tipton Casey and Elizabeth Jane (Netherton) Casey.  Marshall was born on January 23, 1852 in Johnson County, Arkansas.  On December 16, 1875, Marshall Casey married Dora Ann Nail in Denton County, Texas.  Dora was born on January 3, 1855 and is the daughter of Pleasant M. Nail and Martha Ann (Rountree) Nail.  Marshall and Dora Casey were the parents of five children:

Emma Casey never married and died prior to December of 1974.  On December 17, 1908, Edna Casey married Mark Bishop and they had no children.  Edna (Casey) Bishop died on June 24, 1979.  On February 14, 1913, Jennie Casey married John Thomas Allen.  Jennie (Casey) Allen died on September 24, 1972.  Marshall and Della Caseys last child, Infant Son (born March, 1891), died the same month that he was born, March, 1891.

WADE HAMPTON CASEY (8.2.9.7) is the son of Jessie Tipton Casey and Elizabeth Jane (Netherton) Casey.  Wade was born on February 24, 1860 in Arkansas.  On November 2, 1884, Wade Casey married Mahala Rennels (born August 13, 1865 in Coles County, Illinois) in Wise County, Texas.  Wade and Mahala Casey were the parents of five children:

  Francis Marion Casey, b. August 16, 1885, Wise County, Texas
  Bertha Casey, b. February 7, 1887, Wise County, Texas
  Earl Casey, b. March 7, 1889, Wise County, Texas

Casey died on March 17, 1943 in Alamogardo, New Mexico.  John Casey never married.  Marie Casey married Marvlin Dee May and they had two children:  -  Marion Gentry May,  -  Mona May.  Bertha Casey married Carl Austin and they had two daughters.  Bertha married a second time to Edwin Mote and they had no children.  In 1971, Bertha (Casey) Mote was living in Bowie, Texas.  Earl Casey married but had no children.  Earl Casey died on February 2, 1960 in McKinney, Texas.  On February 4, 1915, Robert Casey married Ethel Mae Thomason in Vernon, Texas and they had one daughter:  -  Doris Pauline Casey.  Doris Casey married Everett Earl Baker and they have two children:  -  Ronald Carroll Baker, b. Butler, Oklahoma,  -  Michael Steve Baker, b. Arapaho, Oklahoma.  Jewel Casey died as a child on August 3, 1913 in Vernon, Texas.
