MILES H. CASEY (2.3) is the son of John Casey.  Miles was born in 1836 in McMinn County, Tennessee.  Miles Casey married Rachael Edgemon (8.3.3.2).  Rachael Edgemon was born on March 26, 1834 in Illinois and is the daughter of Braxton Edgemon and Polly (Casey) Edgemon.  Miles and Rachael Casey were the parents of four children:

  John Marion Casey, b. 1857, Arkansas
  William Levi Casey (2.3.3), b. February 16, 1857, Arkansas
  Polly Ann Casey, b. 1861

In 1860, Miles and Rachael Casey were living in Newton County, Arkansas.  During the Civil War, Miles H. Casey was killed while serving in the Union Army.  Rachael and her daughter, Polly, died in 1862.  Braxton, John Marion and William Levi were raised on a farm in Newton County, Arkansas by their grandmother, Polly (Casey) Edgemon.

BRAXTON CASEY (2.3.1) is the son of Miles H. Casey and Rachael (Edgemon) Casey.  Braxton was born in February of 1856 in Arkansas.  On October 17, 1874, Braxton Casey married Mary Catherine Fultz in Newton County, Arkansas.  Mary was born in March, 1849 in Kentucky.  Braxton and Catherine Casey were the parents of at least eleven children:

In 1880, Braxton and Mary Casey were living in Newton County, Arkansas.  From 1900 to 1910, Braxton and Mary Casey were living in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma.  Braxton was a farmer all of his life.  Braxton Casey was buried near Shawnee, Oklahoma.  At one time, Ben Casey lived in California and Oliver Casey lived in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  The 1900 Census states that James was born in February of 1876 and that Jesse was born in February of 1885.

Grace Casey married a Mr. Mills and lived at one time in Pryor, Oklahoma.

WILLIAM LEVI CASEY (2.3.3) is the son of Miles H. Casey and Rachael (Edgemon) Casey.  William was born on February 16, 1857 in Newton County, Arkansas.  Around 1874, William Levi Casey married Elizabeth Ellen Tucker (11.10) in Newton County, Arkansas.  Elizabeth was born on February 16, 1857 in Arkansas and is the daughter of John A. Tucker and Lucinda (Arrington) Casey, both direct ancestors of the authors.  William and Elizabeth Casey were the parents of seven children:

In 1880, William and Ellen Casey were living in Madison County, Arkansas.  They moved to the Indian Territory in the 1890s.  From 1900 to 1910, William and Elizabeth Casey were living in Newton County, Arkansas.  William Levi Casey died on July 12, 1912.  Rachael Casey married Richard Sparks.  Alley Casey married Lloyd Cantrell.  Alley (Casey) Cantrell died in Tecumseh, Oklahoma and was buried in the Pryor Cemetery in Stuart, Oklahoma.  Ernest Casey married Dollie Vota and they had no children.  Dollie had two children by a previous marriage:  Ruby and Leon.  Ernest Casey also married Evelyn Mae Hiles.

JOHN ROBERT CASEY (2.3.3.1) is the son of William Levi Casey and Elizabeth Ellen (Tucker) Casey.  John was born on November 8, 1876 in Kingston, Arkansas.  On November 14, 1901, John Casey married Julia A. Elizabeth Lizzie Killion (born July 6, 1884 in Boston, Newton County, Arkansas).  John and Lizzie Casey were the parents of ten children:

In 1910, John and Lizzie Casey were living in Newton County, Arkansas.  In 1920, John and Lizzie Casey were living in Franklin County, Arkansas.  John R. Casey died on April 24, 1961 in Cecil, Arkansas and was buried there in the Cecil Cemetery.  Goldia Casey died as a child on December 22, 1906.  On November 5, 1922, Pearl Casey married Charlie F. Langston in Cecil, Arkansas.  Claud Casey died on March 29, 1966 and was buried in the Cecil Cemetery in Cecil, Arkansas.  Bertha Casey married a Mr. Almond.  Walter Casey died in 1966 and was buried in the Cecil Cemetery in Cecil, Arkansas.  Bonnie Casey married a Mr. Eubanks.  Arthur Casey was the father of at least one son:  -  Jerry L. Casey.  As of 1980, Jerry Casey was living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Maxine Casey died as a teenager on December 25, 1944 and was buried in the Cecil Cemetery in Cecil, Arkansas.  Kenneth Casey was stillborn and was buried in the Cecil Cemetery in Cecil, Arkansas.

EFFIE LUCINDA CASEY (2.3.3.2) is the daughter of William Levi Casey and Elizabeth Ellen (Tucker) Casey.  Effie was born on January 18, 1880 in Newton County, Arkansas.  On October 15, 1899, Effie Casey married Alfred Warren Lovell in Newton County, Arkansas.  Alfred was born on August 30, 1876 in Newton County, Arkansas and is the son of Robert Lewis Lovell and Amelia Ann (Thurman) Lovell.  Alfred and Effie Lovell were the parents of seven children:

ELMER FRANKLIN LOVELL (2.3.3.2.2) is the son of Alfred Warren Lovell and Effie Lucinda (Casey) Lovell.  Elmer was born on September 2, 1903 in Henryetta, Oklahoma.  On November 25, 1923, Elmer Lovell married Oval Ada Taylor in Stuart, Oklahoma.  Oval was born on June 29, 1905 in Stuart, Oklahoma and is the daughter of William Franklin Taylor and Sally (Bare) Taylor.  Elmer and Oval Lovell were the parents of four children:

BERNICE LORETTA LOVELL (2.3.3.2.2.1) is the daughter of Elmer Franklin Lovell and Oval Ada (Taylor) Lovell.  Bernice was born on October 2, 1924 in Stuart, Oklahoma.  On December 19, 1945, Bernice Lovell married Thomas Lafayette Floyd in Marion, Arkansas.  Thomas and Bernice Kennedy were the parents of one daughter:

MARIE ANNETTE FLOYD (2.3.3.2.2.1.1) is the daughter of Thomas Lafayette Floyd and Bernice Loretta (Lovell) Floyd.  Marie was born on July 17, 1948, Nashville, Tennessee.  On August 19, 1963, Marie Floyd married Charles Eugene Short in Stilwell, Oklahoma.  Charles was born on June 18, 1944 in Krebs, Oklahoma and is the son of George Charles Short and Mary Ola (Hartsfield) Short.  Charles and Marie Short are the parents of four children:

NANCY ANNETTE CASEY (2.3.3.3) is the daughter of William Levi Casey and Elizabeth Ellen (Tucker) Casey.  Nancy was born on August 23, 1883 in Newton County, Arkansas.  On December 19, 1902, Nancy Casey married James Rose Merrell in Arkansas.  James was born on June 7, 1883 in Bigflat, Arkansas and is the son of James Thomas Merrell and Sarah Elizabeth (Culpepper) Merrell.  James and Nancy Merrell were the parents of six children:

Merrell was a drifter and a well-educated man.  He had a degree in Pharmacy and at one time was a registered pharmacist in Oklahoma.  James and Nancy Merrell later lived in Phoenix, Arizona.  James and Nancy Merrell were separated for many years before they died.  Nancy married a second time to George Buffington.  George had only one arm.  Nancy (Casey) Merrell died on November 27, 1954 in Phoenix, Arizona.  James Merrell died on July 16, 1959 in Phoenix, Arizona.  Olive Merrell died at the age of three months in Henryetta, Oklahoma and was buried there in the Westlawn Cemetery.  James T. Merrell married Gladys Pitcher.  James T. Merrell married a second time to Myrtle Eleanor (Harris) Wilbourn.  Myrtle was born on July 24, 1910 at Wagoner, Oklahoma and had one son by previous marriage:  Phillip Wilbourn.  James and Myrtle Merrell had no children.  James T. Merrell died on July 25, 1968 and Myrtle (Harris) Merrell died on November 26, 1972.  Ocie Merrell and his wife, Lonetta Merrell, had no children.  Lonetta had one son by previous marriage:  Johnny.  Ocie Merrell died in April, 1989 in Phoenix, Arizona and was buried there.  Ernest Merrell married Ruby Myatt Bernehausen and they had no children.  Ruby had one daughter by previous marriage:  Joyce.  Elizabeth Merrell maried Curtis Shourd and they live in Phoenix, Arizona.  Curtis and Elizabeth Shourd have two children:  -  James Ernest Shourd,  -  Nancy Diane Shourd.

CLARA MAY MERRELL (2.3.3.3.2) is the daughter of James Rose Merrell and Nancy Annette (Casey) Merrell.  May was born on October 27, 1910 in Boxley, Arkansas.  On May 28, 1927, May Merrell married Wilbur Anthony Layman in Okemah, Oklahoma.  Wilbur was born on June 15, 1908 in Henryetta, Oklahoma and is the son of Jefferson Davis Layman and Bessie Lee (Bradley) Layman.  Wilbur and May Layman were the parents of three children:

  Frances Marie Layman (2.3.3.3.2.1), b. May 14, 1928, Henryetta, Oklahoma
  William Boyd Layman, b. March 8, 1931, Henryetta, Oklahoma
  Dorothy Lee Layman, b. August 8, 1936, Henryetta, Oklahoma

Wilbur Layman worked for the Number 2 Whitehead Coal Mine for about four or five years.  Wilbur then worked for the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company until his retirement.  Wilbur Layman died on April 13, 1975 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was buried in the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta, Oklahoma.  As of May, 1994, May (Merrell) Layman was living with her daughter, Dorothy Layman.

On November 18, 1955, William Bill Layman married Norma Jane Hale in Henryetta, Oklahoma.  Williama and Norma Layman have six children:  -  Norma Jane Layman, b. From 1880 to 1900, John and Ritta Spradley were living in Johnson County, Arkansas.  On October 23, 1879, William M. Spradley married Mary Malinda Barber in Newton County, Arkansas.  Mary was born in 1864 in Newton County, Arkansas and is the daughter of John Barber.

ALBERT L. CASEY (2.10) is probably the son of John Casey.  Albert was born in 1855 in Arkansas.  On June 12, 1876, Albert Casey married Elizabeth Adams (born 1856 in Arkansas) in Newton County, Arkansas.  In 1880, Albert and Elizabeth Casey were living in Johnson County, Arkansas.  Albert and Elizabeth Casey were the parents of at least two children:

  William Jackon Casey, b. November 18, 1880, Arkansas

  John Casey (twin)
  Charles Casey
  James Archie Casey
  Arthur Casey

George Casey was the father of two sons:  -  Virgil Casey,  -  Clifton Casey.  On September 10, 1916, William Casey married Carrie Lula Penney in Crawford County, Arkansas.  Nona Lee Casey married a Mr. Aday.
