JOHN WHITFIELD BRYAN (4.10) is the son of Finus Ewing Bryan and Caledonia Ann (Revere) Bryan.  John was born on July 28, 1883 in Brandon, Texas.  On November 12, 1905, John Bryan married Mary Bernice Jackson in Hill County, Texas.  Bernice was born on December 22, 1885 and is the daughter of Oren Albertas Jackson and Susan Cornelia (Robbins) Jackson.  John and Bernice Bryan were the parents of three children:

   Buie Whitfield Bryan (4.10.1), b. September 3, 1906, Brandon, Texas
   Doris Maureen Bryan (4.10.2), b. October 6, 1908, Vernon, Texas
   Homer Knox Bryan (4.10.3), b. March 20, 1922, Jean, Texas

In 1910, John and Bernice Bryan were living in Hill County, Texas.  In 1920, John and Bernice Bryan were living in Young County, Texas.  Bernice (Jackson) Bryan died on June 30, 1944 in Graham, Texas and John Whitfield Bryan died on July 17, 1954 in Houston, Texas.  Both were buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Graham, Texas.

BUIE WHITFIELD BRYAN (4.10.1) is the son of John Whitfield Bryan and Mary Bernice (Jackson) Bryan.  Buie was born on September 3, 1906 in Brandon, Texas.  On October 2, 1926, Buie Bryan married Ruby Faye Boyle and they were the parents of two children:

   Edward Whitfield Bryan (4.10.1.1), b. July 1, 1927, Jean, Texas
   Jackie Sue Bryan (4.10.1.2), b. October 28, 1928, Jean, Texas

Buie and Ruby Bryan were divorced in 1941.  On April 12, 1941, Buie Bryan married a second time to Mrs. Clara Elizabeth (Baldwin) McCarty in Kerrville, Texas.  Clara was born on August 17, 1916 in Gilespie County, Texas and was previously married to Dennis Herbert McCarty in Tuscon, Arizona.  Herbert and Clara McCarty had one son:  Gerald Bunnard McCarty (born October 4, 1936 in Ajo, Arizona).  Herbert McCarty died in copper mine accident in Ajo, Arizona in October of 1936.  Buie and Clara Bryan were the parents of one daughter:

   Patricia Lavenia Bryan (4.10.1.3), b. July 29, 1947, Baytown, Texas

From 1941 to 1969, Buie and Clara Bryan lived in Baytown, Texas.  Buie worked for Humble Oil and Refining Company (now Exxon).  After Buie retired in 1969, Buie and Clara moved to Kerrville, Texas.  Around 1974, they moved to Graham, Texas and then in November of 1978, they moved back to Baytown, Texas to live closer to their children.  On December 6, 1956, Jerry McCarty married Judy Denise McLaughlin in Reno, Nevada.  Judy had a daughter from a previous marriage:  Peggy Lucille Smith (born June 6, 1956 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma).  Jerry and Judy McCarty had three children:  Sherry Denise McCarty (born March 21st in Baytown, Texas), Dennis Bryan McCarty (born February 7, 1961 in San Francisco, California) and Markie Suzanne McCarty (born November 5, 1962 in San Francisco, California).  Jerry and Judy McCarty were divorced in 1970.  Judy (McLaughlin) McCarty died on November 5, 1974 and was buried in San Francisco, California.  Jerry McCarty married a second time to Dorothy Elaine Carter and they have one daughter:  Tara Leigh McCarty (born April 19, 1972 in Houston, Texas).

EDWARD WHITFIELD BRYAN (4.10.1.1) is the son of Buie Whitfield Bryan and Ruby Faye (Boyle) Bryan.  Edward was born on July 1, 1927 in Jean, Texas.  On July 26, 1952, Edward Bryan married Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Jenkins in Baytown, Texas.  Edward and Libby Bryan have three children:

   Richard Whitfield Bryan, b. April 29, 1953, Baytown, Texas
   Lisa Ann Bryan, b. January 27, 1956, Baytown, Texas
   Susan Gaye Bryan, b. July 12, 1957, Baytown, Texas

Edward served thirteen months in the United States Navy and returned to Baytown, Texas where he attended Lee Junior College for two years.  Edward then attended Texas Christian University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.  Edward worked thirty-three years for Exxon and retired in November of 1983 as a Senior Staff Analyst and Group Supervisor.  On June 10, 1983, Rick Bryan married Rebecca Gail Taylor in Baytown, Texas.  Rick attended the University of Houston and works for Exxon in Houston.  Rebecca is a school teacher and teaches deaf children.

On October 18, 1981, Lisa Bryan married Gary W. Schone.  Lisa is a graduate of the University of Houston and also attended the University of Strasbourg in France.  Gary is a graduate of the University of Colorado.  Gary and Lisa live in Boulder, Colorado.  Gary and Lisa Schone have one daughter:  -  Laurel Elizabeth Schone, b. December 4, 1985, Denver, Colorado.  On December 18, 1983, Susan Bryan married Richard Kyle Pfeiffer.  Richard and Susan are both graduates of Texas A. & M. University and both are employed as engineers with Dowell Corporation where they are District Supervisors at Monahans, Texas.  Richard and Susan Pfeiffer have one son:  -  Jordan Kyle Pfeiffer, b. September 3, 1985, Odessa, Texas.

JACKIE SUE BRYAN (4.10.1.2) is the daughter of Buie Whitfield Bryan and Ruby Faye (Boyle) Bryan.  Sue was born on October 28, 1928 in Jean, Texas.  On January 25, 1948, Sue Bryan married Tommy Joe Reese in Wichita Falls, Texas and they have two children:

   Joe Bryan Reese, b. June 3, 1953, Baytown, Texas

Tommy Joe Reese died on September 10, 1968 and was buried in the Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery in Wichita Falls, Texas.  Sue Bryan married a second time to Ralph Heller Peterson, Jr.  Ralph Peterson, Jr. died on August 2, 1974 and was buried in the Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery.  On December 17, 1966, Sandra Reese married Charles Wayne Lawson in Waurika, Oklahoma and they have three children:  -  Michael Wayne Lawson, b. July 23, 1969,  -  Jodi Lynn Lawson, b. December 26, 1971, Wichita Falls, Texas,  -  Stacy Ann Lawson, b. February 22, 1976, Wichita Falls, Texas.  Michael Lawson died of spinal miningitis on February 9, 1970 and buried in Burkburnett, Texas.  Joe Bryan Reese died on January 23, 1976 in Wichita Falls, Texas and was buried there in the Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery.

PATRICIA LAVENIA BRYAN (4.10.1.3) is the daughter of Buie Whitfield Bryan and Clara Elizabeth (Baldwin) Bryan.  Pat was born on July 29, 1947 in Baytown, Texas.  On August 30, 1968, Pat Bryan married James Sanford Brian in Baytown, Texas and they are the parents of three sons:

   Jason Sanford Brian, b. July 30, 1972, Honolulu, Hawaii
   Patrick Scott Brian, b. May 18, 1974, Houston, Texas
   Bradley Whitfield Brian, b. March 8, 1980, Humble, Texas

Pat (Bryan) Brian attended Lee Junior College in Baytown, Texas and North Texas State University in Denton, Texas.  Pat received a degree in secondary education from the University of Houston and taught English and Journalism for several years at Westbury High School in Houston.  Jim Brian served three years in the United States Navy.  Jim is a graduate of Rice University and was employed by Haskins and Sells as a Certified Public Accountant.  Jim is now the comptroller of the Houston Light and Power Company.

DORIS MAUREEN BRYAN (4.10.2) is the daughter of John Whitfield Bryan and Mary Bernice (Jackson) Bryan.  Doris was born on October 6, 1908 in Vernon, Texas.  On August 21, 1929, Doris Bryan married Carl Green Moreland in Olney, Texas.  Carl was born on May 12, 1907 and is the son of Jerry Edwin Moreland and Annie Louise (Taylor) Moreland.  Carl and Doris were the parents of two children:

   Jerry John Moreland, b. December 21, 1930, Fort Worth, Texas
   Carl Bryan Moreland (4.10.2.2), b. September 14, 1933, Graham, Texas

Doris (Bryan) Moreland died on March 1, 1982 in Dallas, Texas and was buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Graham, Texas.  On January 1, 1960, Jerry Moreland married Shirley Ruth Smith in Midland, Texas and they have two children:  -  John Russell Moreland, b. December 11, 1961, Midland, Texas,  -  Patricia Dawn Moreland, b. July 30, 1963, Denton, Texas.

CARL BRYAN MORELAND (4.10.2.2) is the son of Carl Green Moreland and Doris Maureen (Bryan) Moreland.  Carl was born on September 14, 1933 in Graham, Texas.  On May 25, 1955, Carl Moreland married Rose Maurine Moore and they are the parents three sons:

   Jimmy Joe Moreland, b. May 27, 1965, Denton, Texas

Carl and Rose Moreland were divorced in January of 1973.  On November 19, 1977, Carl Moreland married a second time to Janice (Smith) Arnie.  Janice was previously married and had one daughter:  Alissa Arnie.  On July 7, 1979, Carl Moreland, Jr. married Carla Yvonne Slider in Plano, Texas.  Carl and Carla Moreland have one daughter:  -  Catherine Michelle Moreland, b. May 7, 1981.

HOMER KNOX BRYAN (4.10.3) is the son of John Whitfield Bryan and Mary Bernice (Jackson) Bryan.  Homer was born on March 20, 1922 in Jean, Texas.  On November 22, 1947, Homer Bryan married Arrena Joyce Averett and they are the parents of one son:

OLLIE BIRCH BRYAN (4.11) is the daughter of Finus Ewing Bryan and Caledonia Ann (Revere) Bryan.  Birch was born on January 6, 1886 in Hill County, Texas.  On February 23, 1902, Birch Bryan married Walter P. Smith in Hill County, Texas.  Walter was born on February 12, 1883 in Texas and was the son of Walton Smith (born November, 1851 in Texas) and Mary E. Smith (born September, 1852 in Georgia).  In 1920, Walter and Ollie Smith were living in Hill County, Texas.  Walter and Birch Smith lived in Brandon, Texas.  Although Walter and Birch Smith had no children of their own, they did raise their niece, Belle (Pierce) Pruitt (4.7.4).  Walter P. Smith was a farmer and was with the county law enforcement department in Hill County, Texas.  Birch (Bryan) Smith died on February 23, 1943 and Walter P. Smith died on July 22, 1972.  Both were buried in the Brandon Cemetery near Brandon, Texas.

JULIA ANN BRYAN (5) is the daughter of Finus Ewing Bryan and Caledonia Ann (Revere) Byran.  Julia was born on April 28, 1878 in Brandon, Texas.  On October 15, 1899, Julia Byran married Robert Wesley Brooks in Hillsboro, Texas.  Robert was born on January 1, 1876 near Wimberley, Texas and is the son of Francis Asberry Brooks (born 1837 in Georgia) and Rhoda (Hill) Brooks (born 1846 in Arkansas), both direct ancestors of the authors.  For additional information on the Brooks lines, see the section on Brooks Family History.  From 1891 to 1898, Robert Brooks worked as a ranch hand for Frank Dyer who was married to Julia’s sister, Ella (Bryan) Dyer.  In 1898, Robert Brooks moved to Oklahoma and homesteaded a farm located four miles east of Elk City in Washita County, Oklahoma.  Shortly after moving to Oklahoma, Robert Brooks contracted typhoid fever and almost died near Weatherford, Oklahoma.  During his recovery, he wrote to Julia Bryan and proposed by mail.  After their marriage, Robert and Julia went back to Oklahoma and lived on the land that Robert had claimed.  Until their house was completed, they lived in a half dug-out (half the house was underground level).  At this time, the nearest town where supplies and food could be bought was Weatherford which was 45 miles away and took two days by wagon for a round trip.

In 1900, Robert and Julia Brooks were living in Washita County, Oklahoma Territory.  In 1907, Oklahoma became a state.  In 1910 and 1920, Robert and Julia Brooks were living in Washita County, Oklahoma.  While living on their farm, Robert and Julia Brooks donated part of their land to the county so that a school could be built.  The Pleasant Valley Grade School was built there and all of their children attended this school through the eighth grade.  Robert and Julia Brooks were the parents of six children:

In 1946, Robert Brooks retired from active farming and his son, Everett, continued to farm his homestead.  At that time, Robert and Julia Brooks moved into Elk City, Oklahoma.  Robert Wesley Brooks died on January 25, 1951 and Julia Ann (Bryan) Brooks died on May 3, 1961.  Both died in Elk City, Oklahoma and both were buried in the Canute Cemetery in Washita County, Oklahoma.  Conrad died on January 28, 1922 of an abscess of the liver.  He was buried in the Canute Cemetery in Canute, Oklahoma.  Conrad Brooks never married.  Russell Frazier Brooks died of congenital heart disease on November 11, 1909.  The descendants of Robert and Julia Brooks can be found in the book, “Brooks Family History,” by Bernice and Robert Casey which was published in 1982.  This book contains 13 pages and seven photographs on descendants of Robert and Julia Brooks.  This book is hardbound, contains 382 pages, over 4500 names, 50 photographs and is printed on acid-free paper with a life expectancy of over 300 years.  The book covers only descendants of Jordan Brooks, great grandfather of Robert Wesley Brooks.

BRYAN FRANKLIN BROOKS (5.2) is the son of Robert Wesley Brooks and Julia Ann (Bryan) Brooks.  Bryan was born on January 29, 1904 on his parent’s farm in Washita County, Oklahoma.  On November 10, 1931, Bryan Brooks married Joella Shelton in Los Angeles, California.  Joella was born on September 21, 1914 and is the daughter of Joe Shelton and Lucy Murel (Stuffelbean) Shelton.  Bryan and Joella Brooks were the parents of two children:

   Peggy Lou Brooks (5.2.1), b. October 4, 1932, Los Angeles, California
   Janet Sue Brooks (5.2.2), b. July 14, 1941, Elk City, Oklahoma

Before World War II, Bryan worked in California for Edison Construction Company.  He worked on the construction of a highway through the mountains in California.  Also before the war, Bryan farmed with his father in Washita County, Oklahoma.  During the war, Bryan and his wife worked in a defense plant in California.  After the war, he returned to Oklahoma and again worked on his father’s farm.  Bryan Brooks died on November 11, 1951 and was buried in the Canute Cemetery.  On July 3, 1956, Joella married a second time to Francis Clay “Buster” Vaught and they live in Elk City, Oklahoma.  Buster was born on May 17, 1915 in Mena, Arkansas.

PEGGY LOU BROOKS (5.2.1) is the daughter of Bryan Franklin Brooks and Joella (Shelton) Brooks.  Peggy Lou was born on October 4, 1932 in Los Angeles, alifornia.  On August 18, 1951, Peggy Lou Brooks married Dale William Hill of Leedey, Oklahoma.  Dale was born on August 27, 1924 and is the son of Arthur Clay Hill and Beulah Maud (Darden) Hill.  In 1951, Dale and Peggy Hill were living in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Dale and Peggy Lou Hill are the parents of three children:

Peggy (Brooks) Hill is a 1965 graduate of Tulsa University.  Peggy has been teaching for over ten years and is currently helping to develop a Gifted Program for the Tulsa Public Schools.  Dale is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and is a Physical Education teacher at Salk Elementary School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Dale does wood sculpture and has won several awards at national woodcarving shows.

Don Hill graduated as valedictorian from Tulsa Memorial High School.  He received a Master of Science degree from Rice University in Chemical Engineering.  Don has worked in cryogenics for Pullman Kellogg in Kuwait, Holland and Algeria.  On December 29, 1980, Don Hill married Carol-Elissa Marguerite Markham in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Carol was born in Wardingham, England and is the daughter of Harold William Markham and Elisa (Visser) Markham of Oxon, England.  Don and Carol were remarried in Oxon, England in a formal wedding on March 24, 1981.  Don and Carol Hill have one son:  -  Ashley John Hill, b. June 18, 1982, Houston, Texas.  As of 1982, Don and Carol Hill were living in Houston, Texas.

Terry Hill graduated from Tulsa Memorial High School.  In 1979, Terry received a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Oklahoma State University and is an area sales manager for C. E. Invalco.  Ken Hill was valedictorian from Broken Arrow High School from which he graduated in 1976.  In May of 1980, Ken received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University and is a Project Engineer for Naimon Engineering Company.

JANET SUE BROOKS (5.2.2) is the daughter of Bryan Franklin Brooks and Joella (Shelton) Brooks.  Janet Sue was born on July 14, 1941 in Elk City, Oklahoma.  On July 14, 1961, Janet Sue Brooks married Jackie Lynn Bonny.  Jack was born on October 18, 1939 and is the son of Elmo Jackson Bonny and Dorothy (Blackmore) Bonny.  Jack and Janet Sue Bonny are the parents of two children:

   Jackie Lynn Bonny, Jr., b. July 15, 1965

Jack Bonny was in education for nine years and is now in the oil business.  Janet is a researcher of rare books on western outlaws and history.  Christy Bonny is a student at Southwestern State University in Oklahoma.

EVERETT ROBERT BROOKS (5.4) is the son of Robert Wesley Brooks and Julia Ann (Bryan) Brooks.  Everett was born on November 20, 1912 on his parent’s farm in Washita County, Oklahoma.  Everett attended Pleasant Valley Grade School, Elk City High School and Canute High School.  On January 25, 1941, Everett Brooks married Edna Fay Reynolds.  Edna Fay is the daughter of John Reynolds and Verna Reynolds.  Everett and Edna Fay Brooks were the parents of one son:

   Robert Conrad Brooks, b. January 5, 1942, Elk City, Oklahoma

Everett and Edna Fay Brooks lived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from 1943 to 1948 where Everett worked for Meadow Gold Diary.  Everett ran his parent’s farm for many years.  In 1960, Everett and Edna Fay Brooks were divorced.  Upon the death of his mother in 1961, Everett purchased the farm and continued farming until his death.  Everett Brooks died on October 20, 1973 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was buried in the Canute Cemetery.  Conrad Brooks graduated from Elk City High School in 1962.  Conrad served two years in the army and for the past six years has worked for the City of Elk City, Oklahoma.  Conrad is single and lives in Elk City, Oklahoma.

OMA BIRCH BROOKS (5.6) is the daughter of Robert Wesley Brooks and Julia Ann (Bryan) Brooks.  Birch and her twin sister, Bernice, were born on May 1, 1919 on her parent’s farm in Washita County, Oklahoma.  Birch and Bernice attended Elk City High School where they graduated in May of 1937.  Birch was the Elk City High School pianist and had a bi-weekly radio program for three years at KASA radio station.  In the fall of 1937, Birch and Bernice Brooks enrolled at Oklahoma A. & M. College (later changed to Oklahoma State University).  After two years, Birch received an Associate Degree in Business Administration.  After a third year in college, Birch left school and became a legal secretary for Judge Linville in Elk City, Oklahoma.  Birch later worked for the Production and Marketing Association in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  On March 8, 1946, Birch Brooks married Ralph Stanton Blair.  Ralph was born on February 16, 1915 in Elk City, Oklahoma and is the son of Mortimer Wendell Blair and Sylvia (Nix) Blair.  Ralph graduated from Elk City High School in 1933 and served as a Sergeant in the Air Force during World War II, being stationed in the South Pacific.  Ralph worked as a salesman for a wholesale company out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Ralph and Birch Blair were the parents of one son:

Ralph and Birch Blair lived in Elk City, Oklahoma.  Ralph Blair died of a heart attack on July 16, 1965 and was buried in the Elk City Cemetery.  Birch worked as a secretary for eleven years at Clinton-Sherman Air Force Base near Clinton, Oklahoma.  During the closure of the base, she was transferred to Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  On December 6, 1969, Birch (Brooks) Blair married Master Sergeant Wilson Edward Voorhis, Jr. at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Ed was born on August 16, 1917 in Charleston, South Carolina and was reared in Los Angeles, California.  Ed has two children by a previous marriage:  Valerie Jean Voorhis and Wilson Edgar Voorhis, III.  Ed was an Inflight Refueling Technician and served in Southeast Asia during the Viet Nam war.  Ed retired with 25 years of service with the Air Force.  Birch retired in June of 1979 with 25 years of Federal Civil Service.  As of 1980, Ed and Birch Voorhis reside in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

STANTON GREGG BLAIR (5.6.1) is the son of Ralph Stanton Blair and Birch (Brooks) Blair.  Gregg was born on July 11, 1948 in Elk City, Oklahoma.  Gregg attended grade school, junior high school and high school in Elk City, Oklahoma.  He graduated from Elk City High School in 1966.  On June 1, 1969, Stanton Gregg Blair married Priscilla Fran Hubbard, his high school sweetheart.  Priscilla was born on November 7, 1950 in Elk City, Oklahoma and is the daughter of Frank Hubbard and Zella Mae (Swope) Hubbard.  Gregg and Priscilla Blair are the parents of one daughter:

In the summer of 1970, Gregg received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Southwestern State University located in Weatherford, Oklahoma.  From 1971 to present, Gregg has been a Sales Representative for an Oklahoma City steel fabricator.  Gregg is active in photography and enjoys traveling.  Gregg played the guitar in a band during his high school and college years.  Gregg and Priscilla are active in church work and enjoy working with young people.  From 1977 to 1981, Gregg and Priscilla Blair lived in the country northwest of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  In 1981, they moved into Oklahoma City where they currently reside.

ETHEL BERNICE BROOKS (6) is the daughter of Robert Wesley Brooks and Julia Ann (Bryan) Brooks.  Bernice and her twin sister, Birch, were born on her parent’s farm in Washita County, Oklahoma on May 1, 1919.  Bernice and Birch attended the Pleasant Valley School for the first eight years of their education.  Later, Bernice and Birch attended Elk City High School where they graduated in May of 1937.  In the fall of 1937, Bernice enrolled at Oklahoma A. & M. (name was later changed to Oklahoma State University) in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  On December 31, 1941, Bernice Brooks married Alvin Harold Casey in Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma.  Harold was born on March 9, 1915 in Kanima, Oklahoma and is the son of Louis Bertie Casey (born 1883 in Arkansas) and Florence Larue (Shelton) Casey (born 1886 in Arkansas).  Bernice completed her requirements for her degree in January of 1942 and in May of 1942, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics.  Harold Casey received his Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma State University in 1941 and then became an agriculture instructor in Helena, Oklahoma.  Harold joined the Navy in April of 1943 and served until February of 1946, attaining the rank of Sr. Lieutenant.  After Harold joined the Navy in 1943, Bernice lived the duration of World War II with her parents in Elk City, Oklahoma.  Harold and Bernice Casey are the parents of three sons:

From 1945 to 1957, Harold and Bernice Casey lived in Guthrie, Oklahoma where Harold was a County Agricultural Agent for Logan County, Oklahoma.  In 1955, Harold completed his requirements for a Master of Science from Oklahoma State University.  In 1957, he was promoted to a District Extension Director and he and Bernice moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma for his new position.  In 1961, Harold received a Doctorate of Education (EdD) from Oklahoma State University.  In 1968, he was promoted to Director of Personnel for the Oklahoma State University Extension Service and remained in that position until he retired in July of 1976.  From July of 1976 to July of 1977, Harold was an Associate Professor in the Department of Agriculture Education at Oklahoma State University.  During this year, he was co-author of the four hour correspondence course, “Education to Feed a Hungry World.”  Harold Casey died on January 8, 1991 and was buried in the Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, Oklahoma.  Bernice Casey has been a volunteer worker for the Heart Association and for the Stillwater Municipal Hospital, where she currently works in the Nursery.  She also is an active golf player and plays bridge.  Both Harold and Bernice Casey are active genealogists.  Harold, Bernice and their son, Robert, have compiled four family history books.  Harold was the President of the Payne County Genealogical Society for many years.  Bernice Casey and her son, Robert, are the authors of this book.  As of 1995, Bernice (Brooks) Casey was living at 1002 Westwood Drive, Stillwater, Oklahoma 74074.

PATRICK JON CASEY (6.1) is the son of Harold Casey and Bernice (Brooks) Casey.  Pat was born on July 5, 1943 in Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma.  At the time of his birth, Bernice was living with her parents and Harold was in the navy stationed at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida.  After Harold left the service in 1946, Pat lived with his parents in Guthrie, Oklahoma until 1957 when they moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma.  Pat graduated from Stillwater High School in 1961 and attended Oklahoma State University for two years.  Later, Pat attended the University of Oklahoma located in Norman, Oklahoma.  On February 24, 1967, Pat Casey married Ellen Kay Webster in Norman, Oklahoma.  Ellen was born on April 5, 1946 in Enid, Oklahoma and is the daughter of Glynn William Webster and Daphine (Wright) Webster.  In August of 1967, Pat received a Bachelor of Business Administration.  Upon graduation, Pat was employed by Campbell Soup Company and lived in Paris, Texas from August of 1967 to May of 1972.  Pat’s last position at Campbell’s was Manager of Employee Relations.

From 1972 to 1974, Pat attended Oklahoma City University School of Law.  In August of 1974, he obtained a Juris Doctorate and was named “Graduate of the Year” by his legal fraternity, Phi Delta Phi.  Upon graduation, Pat remained in Oklahoma City and was employed by the law firm Felix, Bowman, McIntyre and McDivitt.  Pat’s law firm specializes in business and tax planning for developers, builders and real estate operators throughout the United States and actively represents clients in over thirty states.  Pat authors the monthly article, “Tax Tips,” in the Oklahoma Homebuilder, Builder Review, Illinois HomeBuilder and Florida Homebuilder and has several articles published nationally in Journal Scope, Compendium of Investment Properties, Tax Ideas and Property Journal.  He has also co-authored the chapter “Tax Considerations” in the NAHB Land Development Manual.  Pat has conducted tax seminars throughout United States.  He is a member of the National Association of Home Builders and is a member of the Taxation Committee and an alternate National Director.  Pat is legal counsel and a member of the Executive Committee for the Oklahoma Home Builders Associaton and Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association.  He is admitted to practice before several Courts including the United States Supreme Court and the United States Tax Court.  Pat and Ellen Casey are the parents of two daughters:

In May of 1977, Pat became a partner in his law firm.  As of 1982, the firm’s name is McIntyre, McDivitt, Casey, Kivel and Cogdell.  In July of 1979, Pat and Ellen Casey moved to Norman, Oklahoma.  In 1992, Pat and Ellen Casey were divorced.  On September 19, 1992, Pat Casey married Robi Sue Whitnah in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  As of 2003, Pat’s law firm is now called McDivitt and Casey.  On May 30, 1992, Kimberly Casey married William Scott “Bill” Nixon in Norman, Oklahoma.  Bill was born on February 5, 1967 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania is the son of Donald R. Nixon and Frances M. (Strecker) Nixon.  Bill and Kimberly Nixon have three children:  -  William James Nixon, b. July 17, 1998, Pennsylvania,  -  Johnathan Robert Nixon, b. October 3, 1999, Pennsylvania,  -  Justin Harold Nixon, b. DAVID MYRON CASEY (6.2) is the son of Harold Casey and Bernice (Brooks) Casey.  David was born on September 13, 1947 in Guthrie, Logan County, Oklahoma.  David graduated from Stillwater High School in 1965 and enrolled at Oklahoma State University located in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  In 1971, David received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Marketing.  From 1971 to 1974, David lived in Denver, Colorado and was employed in retail management.  From 1974 to 1976, David lived in Edmond, Oklahoma and managed a small grocery business.  On June 26, 1976, David Myron Casey married Susan Elaine Garrett in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  Susan was born on December 30, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and is the daughter of Clint George Garrett, Jr. and Majorie Jane (Pulver) Garrett of Poteau, Oklahoma.  Susan’s grandmother, Mildred (Thomas) Pulver, is the first cousin of Ronald Reagan, former President of the United States.  Susan is a graduate of Carl Albert Junior College and attended Oklahoma State University.  From 1976 to 1979, David and Susan Casey lived in Oklahoma City.  David attended the Oklahoma City University School of Law and Susan worked for Dresser Industries.  In 1979, David obtained a Juris Doctorate.  After graduation, David and Susan moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma.  David became a staff attorney for Legal Aid of Western Oklahoma.  David and Susan Casey are the parents of three daughters:

In 1981, David became a partner in the law firm of Casey and Casey in Ponca City, Oklahoma.  Charles Casey (no relation) was the other partner in the firm.  David’s firm specializes in Estate planning, probate, commercial law and corporate law.  In 1982, Susan worked for the Federal Land Bank in Ponca City.  In 1983, Susan resigned from her job to become a full time homemaker.  In 1983, David became a staff attorney for Frontier Federal Savings & Loan Association, one of the state’s largest saving & loans with corporate Headquarters in Ponca City, Oklahoma.  David manages the legal department and was elected corporate secretary in 1985.  In 1986, David joined his brother’s law firm and moved to Norman, Oklahoma.  In 1987, David and his family moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma where David ran a private law practice.  In 1992, David joined his brother’s law firm again and commuted to Oklahoma City from Stillwater.  In 1997, David left the legal business and became a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch and commuted to Oklahoma City from Stillwater.  In 1998, David started his own financial consultant business as an advisor for Waterhouse.  Jill Casey has one daughter:  -  MacKenzie Casey, b. ROBERT BROOKS CASEY (7) is the son of Harold Casey and Bernice (Brooks) Casey.  Robert was born on May 25, 1951 in Guthrie, Logan County, Oklahoma.  Robert attended grade school, junior high school and high school in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  He graduated from Stillwater High School in May of 1969 and enrolled in the School of Engineering at Oklahoma State University located in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  On May 22, 1971, Robert Brooks Casey married Debra Lee Mashburn in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Robert received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in May of 1973 and then moved to Berkeley, California where he enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley.  In June of 1974, Robert received a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and moved to Austin, Texas where Robert was employed by International Business Machines.  On May 27, 1977, Robert and Debbie Casey were divorced.  From March of 1976 to September of 1979, Robert Casey lived north of Austin near Pflugerville, Texas.  In September of 1979, Robert moved back into Austin.  From July of 1974 to October of 1981, Robert was involved in the design and development of word processing systems.  He has participated in the design of the Office System 6, the 5520 Administrative System and the Displaywriter on which this book was created.  In October of 1981, Robert moved to Carrollton, Texas and to Dallas, Texas in June of 1984, where he supported the marketing of large I. B. M. data processing systems.

On March 2, 1985, Robert Casey married Diane Marie Thede in Dallas, Texas.  Diane was born on August 7, 1957 in Battle Creek, Michigan and is the daughter of Kenneth Alfred Thede (born 1922 in Michigan) and Eleanor June (Santelman) Thede (born 1932 in Michigan).  Diane received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Christian University in 1980 and worked for seven years for several advertising companies, her last position was an account executive for the Popejoy and Fischel advertising agency.  In 1987, Diane left the advertising business to become a full time homemaker.  Robert and Diane Casey are the parents of two sons:

In October of 1989, Robert and his family moved to Austin, Texas and has continued to work for I. B. M. in various marketing and service positions.  Robert and Diane have been very active in scouts and Robert coached soccer teams for several years.  Robert is an active genealogist and has been a leader in the Genealogy Special Interest Group of the Central Texas PC Users Group in Austin, Texas.  Robert and his parents have compiled this family history book and four other family history books.
