JOHN “SQUIRE” ALLEN (1.9.2) is the son of Thomas Allen and Margaret (Bryan) Allen.  John was born on December 17, 1791 in Rowan County, North Carolina.  John Allen was also known as “Squire” Allen.  On June 6, 1815, John Allen married Sarah Bell in Davidson County, Tennessee.  Sarah was born around 1792.  John and Sarah Allen were the parents of two children:

   Robert Bell Allen (1.9.2.1), b. April 8, 1817, Davidson County, Tennessee
   Margerie Allen (1.9.2.2), b. December 17, 1817, Davidson County, Tennessee

In 1820, “John” Allen (born 1775 to 1794) was living in Madison County, Illinois.  John was a leading politician from 1820 to 1837.  From 1830 to 1840, John Allen was living in Greene County, Illinois.  The 1830 census record indicates that John Allen had six sons and three daughters and it has been stated that other children of John’s children died of consumption.  John “Squire” Allen died on February 16, 1841 in Greene County, Illinois and was buried there in the New Providence Cemetery.  Sarah (Bell) Allen died on March 3, 1848 in Greene County, Illinois.

ROBERT BELL ALLEN (1.9.2.1) is the son of John Allen and Sarah (Bell) Allen.  Robert was born on April 8, 1817 in Davidson County, Tennessee.  On March 12, 1840, Robert Allen married Susannah Morrow in Greene County, Illinois.  Susannah was born on February 25, 1819 in Tennessee.  Robert and Susannah Allen were the parents of three children:

MARGERIE ALLEN (1.9.2.2) is the daughter of John Allen and Sarah (Bell) Allen.  Margerie was born on December 17, 1817 in Davidson County, Tennessee.  On November 24, 1836, Margerie Allen married Jesse Morrow in Greene County, Illinois.  Jesse was born on January 4, 1813 in Tennessee.  Jesse and Margerie Morrow were the parents of two children:

Margerie (Allen) Morrow died on August 6, 1842 in Greene County, Illinois.  From 1850 to 1860, Jesse Morrow and his second wife, Elvira Morrow (born 1821 in Tennessee), were living in Greene County, Illinois.  Jesse Morrow died on September 11, 1888 in Greene County, Illinois.  On November 2, 1865, Marshall Morrow married Elizabeth M. Scott in Greene County, Illinois.  Elizabeth was born on February 22, 1839 in Greene County, Illinois and is the daughter of Benjamin Scott and Lucinda Scott.  Marshall and Elizabeth Morrow had one son:  -  Benjamin F. Morrow, b. Gardner.  John Gardner died prior to 1913.  On August 21, 1883, Ida married a second time to Joseph P. Killian in Jerseyville, Illinois.  Ida (Allen) Killian died on February 4, 1942.  Lillian Allen died on March 21, 1951 in Greene County, Illinois.  Carrie Allen died on July 29, 1958 in Greene County, Illinois.  Anna M. Allen died as an infant on August 5, 1872 in Greene County, Illinois.  Nellie K. Allen died as an infant on July 25, 1872 in Greene County, Illinois.

HATTIE BELLE ALLEN (1.9.3.6.13) is the daughter of James Martin Allen and Louisa M. (Strickland) Allen.  Hattie was born on June 20, 1874 in Greene County, Illinois.  On December 28, 1892, Hattie Allen married Elmer West Parks in Greene County, Illinois.  Elmer was born in the 1860s.  Elmer and Hattie Parks were the parents of six children:

   Mabel Parks, b. September 30, 1894, Greene County, Illinois
   Faye Parks, b. after 1894
   Clara Jane Parks, b. after 1894
   Allen G. Parks, b. ca. 1897
   Frances Lillian Parks, b. February 12, 1900, Greene County, Illinois

Hattie (Allen) Parks died on May 14, 1945 in Greene County, Illinois.  Frances Parks married James Willington Ford.  James was born on March 25, 1894.  James Ford died on May 16, 1975 in Greene County, Illinois and Frances (Parks) Ford died on June 23, 1989 in Greenfield, Greene County, Illinois.

SARAH ALLEN (1.9.7) is the daughter of Thomas Allen and Margaret (Bryan) Allen.  Sarah was born on September 23, 1804, Tennessee.  On January 9, 1823, Sarah “Sallie” Allen married Elam Brown in Greene County, Illinois.  Elam was born on June 10, 1797 in Herkimer, New York.  Elam and Sallie Brown were the parents of four children:

   Thomas Allen Brown (1.9.7.1), b. October 16, 1823, Greene County, Illinois
   Warren Brown, b. June 19, 1826, Morgan County, Illinois
   Margaline Brown, b. April 12, 1829, Morgan County, Illinois
   Lawrence M. Brown, b. January 14, 1833, Morgan County, Illinois

Elam and Sallie Brown later moved to California where Elam owned a substantial amount of real estate and became a legislator.  Sarah (Allen) Brown died prior to 1847 in California.  In 1860, Elam Brown and his wife, Margaret Brown (born 1795 in Virginia), were living in Contra Costa County, California.  Elam Brown died on August 10, 1889 in Lafayette, Contra Costa County, California.  In 1860, Warren Brown and his wife, Laura Brown (born 1833 in Ohio), were living in Contra Costa County, California.  Warren Brown died on May 14, 1889 in California.  Margaline died on March 12, 1893 in Martinez, California.  Lawrence Brown died on August 1, 1877 in Contra Costa, California.

THOMAS ALLEN BROWN (1.9.7.1) is the son of Elam Brown and Sarah (Allen) Brown.  Thomas was born on October 16, 1823 in Greene County, Illinois.  On May 20, 1851, Thomas Brown married Caroline Thela Camron in Martinez, California.  Caroline was born on January 5, 1834 in Bernadotte, Fulton County, Illinois.  Thomas and Caroline Brown were the parents of three children:

   Elam C. Brown, b. February 5, 1853, Martinez, California
   Wallace A. Brown, b. January 23, 1857, Martinez, California
   Byron Brown, b. November 17, 1859, California

In 1860, Thomas and Caroline Brown were living in Contra Costa County, California.  Thomas Brown died on August 5, 1889 in Martinez, California and Caroline (Camron) Brown died on January 14, 1922 in Martinez, California.  On June 29, 1906, Elam Brown married Minnie E. Andrews in Denver, Colorado.  Minnie was born in 1873.  Elam C. Brown died on December 30, 1925 in Martinez, California and Minnie (Andrews) Brown died on June 22, 1926 in Martinez, California.  Wallace A. Brown died on December 6, 1921 in Martinez, California.  Byron Brown died in December, 1938 in California.

JOSIAH ALLEN (1.9.8) is the son of Thomas Allen and Margaret (Bryan) Allen.  Josiah was born in 1806 in Tennessee.  On February 1, 1827, Josiah (Joseph) Allen married Elizabeth Stark in Greene County, Illinois.  In 1840, Josiah Allen was living in Greene County, Illinois.  Josiah and Elizabeth Allen were the parents of nine children:

   Eviline Allen
   Hannah Allen
   Elizabeth Allen
   William Marion Allen
   Samuel Henry Allen
   Jonathan Allen
   John S. Allen
   Joseph Presley Allen

Josiah Allen died prior to 1852 in Lawrence County, Missouri and Elizabeth (Stark) Allen died prior to 1857 in Lawrence County, Missouri.  Eviline Allen married a Mr. Guthrie.  Hannah Allen married a Mr. Lowder.  Elizabeth Allen married a Mr. Ray and they had one daughter:  -  Mary S. Ray.
